Latest Scribus for both 32 and 64 bits Puppy

#1 Post by Atle »

Hi folks...

I try to make a solution where people around the word can take back the press.

And in order to do that, one needs to enable them to make newspapers.

Scribus is the solution for that and it has a new version that is better than the current that is supported by both 32 and 64 bits puppy...

My hope is that it could be for Lupu 52.8.xx and for Fatdog64. Both my clear favorites.

But I am open for anything...

I can just download and use Ubuntu or something, but I like to use the best and that is Puppy Linux:-)

hi atle,

it works in tahrpup 32 & 64
here's some instructions....

grab the scribus packages from here https://launchpad.net/~scribus/+archive ... ter=trusty
i386 for 32bit and amd64 for 64 bit. you'll need to install all the lib packages as well (no need to install .dev packages & ignore the ppc .debs)

you'll then need a few things from the PPM (make sure to update the repositories first in the PPMs settings)
use the find box and install...
libblas3
liblapack3
libopenscenegraph99
libpodofo0.9

finally scribus needs QT5. tahrpup 32bit has an sfs which can be installed by typing into a terminal

Code: Select all

sfsget
for tahrpup64 you'll need to install the missing QT5 stuff from the PPM.
right click on /usr/bin/scribus-trunk and choose 'ListDD' then click the 'missing' button.
these will all need getting from the PPM . so for instance it shows libQt5Widgets.so.5 is needed but just type libQt5Widgets into the find box
