Hello @Dry Falls
Thanks for 6045. Downloaded, checksumed OK, and burned DVD.
Booted to desktop; fonts again not correct. Exited to terminal and ran xorgwizard-puppy taking the Probe selection as you prescribed earlier. Same results as gotten on initial boot.
Exited again to terminal; xorgwizard-puppy taking Vesa. Reentered xorgwizard-puppy and took Probe which arrived to desktop with clear readable characters.
Touch screen tracking extremely accurate, here too. All seems well, thus far.

- Dont know how to tell the version of the 60xx series within the system. And the DVD's label does not hint to version nor its files.

Here's the file (I spaced it out) to drop iinto /etc (lsb-release) which corrects the operating system version number. The volume label of the iso is the default setting of lh-remaster ('JL64_LIVE'). The name of the iso, on the other hand, gives the distro version. In addition, here is a pet to fix a buggy jwm configuration manager if accessed from control panel.gcmartin wrote:Dont know how to tell the version of the 60xx series within the system. Updated retrovol & eventmanager ui (from woofCE/Slacko64 -- 'isn't theft the highest form of flattery?') Also contains the previous patches and mesa pet (If you've installed them, it shouldn't hurt anything as the redundant files will simply be overwritten). Finally able to upgrade Xorg-server without breaking the system. Hacked out some xorg and synaptic modules from 'Chubby' to complete what gslapt failed to include in the upgrade. Should experience better screen fonts as well as touch tracking. I still use modesetting driver, but it boots ootb to a smooth desktop right off on my machine. Obviously, this issue (604.6) is for testing.

Tried 604.5 three times, first stalled 25 M, second 72 M, this time 424 M - is there a mirror I could try instead?
Thanks.
Thanks.

What, please, is the purpose of the 5-JL_604.sfs?

Qupzilla browser is on it and won't work without qt. Qt is also on the Devx file. There is also ~/Startup/2_JL64-Startup.sh which is meant to be editable. Editsfs on 5_JL64... is a bit more convenient than remastering the whole base file for one little startup script.edoc wrote:the purpose of the 5-JL_604.sfs?...So it's an optional add-on?
Thanks, Ally
Sylvander, may want to hold off on that patch. I've reports of it not working. Will test it again shortly. But the way I use Delta3 is open menu -> Utility (-> More Utilities ->) 'XDelta file difference manager' and drag the iso into the top box and the patch into the bottom box and hit the 'generate' button. Be careful not to click on the Delta patch itself (hold down as you drag it or use the location dialog arrow) if it is with the file you want to upgrade. That can make a mess of things if the proper procedures aren't met. To play it safe, I put the original and Delta3 in separate directories before starting.

That delta patch works fine, but there's another one which includes some minor changes:

b. You didn't say WHAT it would generate, which in my case is a LARGE 670M iso file.
How dumb am I?
Aught to have noticed the clues, huh?
I guess I should now use this new ISO to make yet another new CD-RW disk and boot that to update the JL64save-ondemand.4fs file.
Pretty certain that is correct, so will go ahead and do it.
DONE
Hmmm, how would I check that all has been completed as it aught?
I'll go to the 1st post and look for info.

gtk2-themes
uploaded a delta3 patch for 5_JL64-604.sfs (see 'Update' link, opening post or 'update' -> filepup on JL64 desktop). contains gtk2-theme-engines for a bit cleaner theme integration. Also modified gtk-dark_rox pet for rox fonts on dark backgrounds:

Re: Just-Lighthouse64-603/604
Not sure why that should be, unless you're talking about g-slapt and not PPM. Gslapt won't function right if hwclock (time-stamp) is not in sync with official time. Run sync-time to internet and then enter in terminal 'hwclock -w'. Restart X and it should work. I just successfully updated PPM, so I'm not sure about that, except that if one repo server is down or times out, PPM will insist on resetting and starting over with everything. A note, puppy-noarch doesn't generally change its database so is not updated, and fatdog @ ibiblio seems no longer supported.Billtoo wrote:Edit: The package manager seems to be broken, I tried updating it but that didn't help.
