I would say yes and the games to replace I would remove picpuz, rubix cube, tile slider game, xemeraldia. but I would like to see a small solitaire game included, bejeweled is probably the most addictive game on windows, and Geweled does a great job at replacing it with a freeware version.

Speaking for myself I have no interest at all in a Bejeweled clone and actually like playing Picpuz. Is there a particular reason for removing games from the iso? Seems a little like throwing the baby out with the bathwater, TBH.

At the minute I'm attempting to sort out that 80GB hard drive and am surprised that there is no offline documentation supplied with GParted considering the chances of making a catastropic error.
Some people play games and many don't.

The best solution, IMHO, is to create a SFS with a ton of games in it.

the reason is that dclock can change colors. As I understand it tclock cannot. Please correct me if I have misunderstood.
Yes, the dclock plugin of FBPanel supports text colors when added as a secondary format string, separate from the primary command string.

The tclock plugin supports Pango markup when inserted in the same command string that contains the strftime specifiers, but this would be difficult to manage in a clock-setting utility such as PupClockset.

The advantage of dclock would be the ability to assign colors to the clock numerals, but the display options are limited. The advantage of tclock would be the capacity to use strftime specifiers for the display of time and date in multiple formats, but the options for color are more difficult to implement.

Thank you playdayz for the reply.

Just tried a pfix=ram LiveCD boot on Zhaan (K6 2 500) and Abiword, Geany and GNUmeric still don't work, giving the same Illegal Instruction error as previously when I try to launch them from the console. Is there any prospect of this actually being fixed before the release of Lupu 5.2 or some way for me to revert to the versions that came with Lupu 5.1.1?

Booted LiveCD on Merlin (Pentium D 3.4GHz), upgrading the pupsave from Luci 240 to 241. No problems noted on that machine.

According to the GParted website at http://gparted.org the latest version of the program is 0.7.0 whereas the version with Luci is 0.6.2. I haven't managed to clone that 1.7GB drive to the 80GB yet, both GParted and Pudd error part way through, the drive did have some errors on it a while back but I thought Win98's scandisc and marked them as unusable so they'd be skipped.

Out of curiosity, why is the Country Settings menu in Desktop rather than Setup?
Zhaan - AMD K6 2 500, 512MB RAM, ATI Rage 128 VR. Full install Wary 5.5 HardInfo Report
Merlin - Core i5-4590, 8GB RAM, Radeon R9 270X. Slacko 5.7.0

Indeed... Why not simply create a few pets and add them to the repo??

These games are mostly only hundreds of kilobytes, maybe 1 or 2 megabytes, with dependencies...
That's not too big for a pet file...

You could have 'card-games-lupu.pet', 'puzzle-games-lupu.pet', 'educational-games-lupu.pet'...
and so on and so on!!

Back now! (was lovely too :D )

Can fix Lobster's issue, it is a ramification of fixing something else! That's how it goes!

Hi chaps, now i know i should report a bit more than i do,and you may have already sorted it,but sound muted and cpu usage, nightmare to say the least, but on a lighter note, once you run the sound set-up,the cpu usage corrects itself.
but on reboot still a bummer,no sound...
will be posting a video showing this on Monday so you can all see,and probably doing 242 the day after.
but the main problem for me personally is with openshot, recordmydesktop and picassa.
you cant have them all,if you use rmd,is fine but if you want openshot and install it,no rmd,and the same goes for picassa.
now have tested this on several machines and the result is still the same so there is a conflict there somewhere along the line.
I don't know if it helps but i will be concentrating more on pup's for a while,so will have more time to test stuff....nuff said...

I attempted to run Luci-242 on my old AMD K-6 2 box (500 mhz and maxed out 384 mb of ram w/1 gb swap).......attempted because X will not start.
Booted pfix=ram and proceeded to the point of X starting and frozen black screen. Only way out was hard poweroff.
Rebooted pfix=nox. Used xorgwizard,probe,1024x768x16 and.....frozen black screen. Tried again pfix=nox, vesa, test, passed test, enter and frozen black screen. :)
One final try....pfix=nox,xorgwizard,choose, picked correct Cirrus driver, test and frozen black screen yet again.
Cirrus Laguna graphics card. computer is running nlited XP and 214x....and the cd itself has been checked and verified and works in other machines.

luci-242 should fix the problem about no sound on reboot. Do you have that problem with luci-242?

The thing about openshot, rmd, and picasa sounds nasty. I apologize that it is not something that I will have full time for. One hopes a user might investigate--and then I can implement a fix. Openshot was a very troublesome program to get running. I have never done it, btw, is it rcrsn51 that can make it work? Lobster reported a a problem with rmd--I bet he was using Openshot also..

It's all to do with Python. Openshot includes Python 2.5 while rmd depends on Python 2.6 in the repo. Don't know about Picassa but I bet it's the same. I'll look into it over the coming days sneaky... it's the same with compiz, needs 2.5.

Evidently not. :) 5.11 does the same.....even manually choosing the correct driver results in a black screen...no prompt and no way out except hard poweroff.
Personally not really worried about it.......just testing.

Running the latest Wary live at the moment...no problem.
Tried Insidious 001 too........got the dreaded "use a kernel more appropriate for your cpu" message with it.

Picasa is running in wine (behind the scenes).

hi guys,me again, well have just run 242,and yes the sound stuff is now all ok,i did report about openshot and rmd a real long time ago when 5 was released, but hey that is all water under the bridge.
242 runs real fine under vb and my main test machine with a save file, have also done the xfce thing with another and that runs cool too,and yes mate python is the prob as far as i am aware.
i will still u/l the video on 241 unless anyone has a problem with it,as it just shows that all you guys work on it all the time, unlike a lot of other distro's.
As i said to jon last week(runtt21) i will be giving a lot more time to pup for a while,so i hope you wont get bored with me...lol

FWIW, I have decided to leave the games alone--there is a version of geweled 1.0 in the PPM and Aisleriot which was proposed as a great Solitarire suite. I will put ttuuxxx's geweled in there (PPM) too.

This is one more thing to not have to change--that is what it is about now--changing only what has to be changed.

While testing a download of the samba sfs I inadvertantly discovered that the z|drv.sfs shows up in the right pane of BootManager (242  )

Cheers

Strange, Lupu 5.1.1 works fine on my K6 2 500. Maybe it doesn't like your graphics hardware? I'm using the onboard ATI Rage 128 VR.
