- A hyperlink to the webpage of the software you want packaged.
- Which version of Puppy you need it for.
- If you need a driver, which kernel version you have (run uname -r in a terminal window to find out)
Requesters: If your request is filled adequately, please go back to the first post you made in your request thread and click on the "edit" button. Go the to "Subject" field and add the text "[FILLED]" to the subject line. Then click submit. This way people who are scanning through the list of requests can easily filter out which ones have and have not already been filled. (This is analogous to the "[SOLVED]" tags in the more help-oriented areas of the forum.)
Example of the process:
Joe wants somebody to make a package of the latest version of VLC. He posts a thread in the Requests section. Bob sees the request and makes a package of VLC. Bob then posts a thread in the Multimedia section with the download information for the package he made. Bob should also make a post in the thread that Joe made, with the URL of the thread in Multimedia, so that Joe will know his request has been filled. At this point, when Joe sees that his request has been filled, he should edit his first post in that request thread to change his subject line to show that the request has been filled, by adding the text [FILLED] at the end.
FYI, raw urls (like http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy) can be made into clickable hyperlinks by putting "url" tags around them, like so:
Code: Select all
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy
They can be modified to hide the actual URL behind a more friendly line of text like this:
Code: Select all
Puppy Linux Forum
