Your instructions talk about the usr_more.sfs file, but not the megapup002.pup file which has the same date stamp as the usr file. What do we do with the .pup?

I have mirrored the three files here
http://tmxxine.com/puppy/
Where you will also find
man9.rtf the "Intro to Puppy" manual
Puppy 1.0.8r1 (latest)
pawed22b.ogg (Lobster rant in audio)
and SimplePup (xfce based on Puppy 1.0.7 "Empty Crust)
Once downloaded . . .
to check a download from Puppy:
* open a console where the
iso is (right click / xterm here)
* type in md5sum Si
then press tab and the rest will be filled
like so:
# md5sum SimplePup-0.3.iso
* press enter and wait
this combination should appear:
aec1d2491e6ff24537b837234557622f
anything else and you have
a faulty download do not burn onto CD
Each iso has its own unique checksum
The fastest and most reliable download will be the bittorrent
so use that (see previous posting (from Puppian I think it is)

Well, I am now writing this with Konqueror in Puppy Linux 1.0.8r1.
The end of this post can be copied to a text file with the updated instructions for inclusion with the main files.
Mark, when one runs the megapup002.pup it prompts to overwrite a couple files as shown in my attachment. Also, the next version of the Megapuppy launcher should fit in a 800x600 screen better, but its still usable as is.
Puppian, the torrent you made gave my BitTorrent client an error as reported at one of your other trackers. Also, the MD5 checksum file isn't needed since the BitTorrent protocol already uses a hash to verify file integrity.

Thanks so much J_Rey
The torrent error is probably a filename encoding problem. It seems that uTorrent doesn't support different encodings very well.
I've created the torrent again with Azureus, please download it again and see if it's ok now.

To have KDE as well - very fast loading
and java. Open Office was fast loading too compared with other distros
If you have access to a fast connection try this great combination and let us know what you think. Marvellous.
to add other languages:
It is simple (for KDE):
Download one of the languagepacks, and extract to /xxx
ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.5.1/ ... are/noarch
Then delete /xxx/opt/kde/share/doc
Then copy the files in /xxx/opt/kde/share to /usr/share
For Openoffice, read here:

Is there a way to just download wine-9.9 instead of the whole package ? I would appreciate it. But if not thanks anyway.
Heaven is on the way, until then let's get the truth out!
I replaced all files.
usr_more.sfs now has a multilangual version of openoffice.
It will start in german by default, so your first steps should be:
In the Office-menu:
Extras - Optionen - Spracheinstellungen - Sprachen
There select english (US) or francais.
Here is a screenshot of openoffice and KDE in french:
http://dotpups.de/pics/puppy/oofrance.jpg
If you need other languages, tell me, or try to add them yourself:
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=6824
The Megapup-launcher now has a new button to choose the way Openoffice looks like (Gkt , KDE, Native).

I updated megapup002.pup.
It has a new script "ln-usr_devx".
I need it in Puppy 108r1, when I use the developper-addon "usr_devx.sfs".
It will create some symlinks in /root/.usr/lib/qt and ask you to reboot.
You must click maybe twice on the "KDEpanel"-button so that KDE will recognize the new links.
Tried it only with 108r1 (frugal install), so no guarantee for any other combination.
Paul (Pakt) reported, it works too in Puppy 107.
The script symlinks every single file from Megapuppys /usr/lib/qt-3.3.4 and not whole folders to avoid problems with dotpups that extract to the /usr/lib/qt.
Run it in a console at own risk:
/usr/local/megapup002/ln-usr_devx -force
