Unrar for 4.3.1
Unrar for 4.3.1
Installs unrar and changes MIME type so that if you just click on a .rar file it loads it into xarchive ready for extracting to directory of your choice. Tested on 4.3.1.

Dave S,
I wanted to thank you for this one.... I had been using the binary RAR and UNRAR via command line in 4.31 (don't know how to make pets or modify MIME-types on my own).
You have just made my life that much easier!
Thank you.

For some strange reason, this isn't working for me now. Installed in Boxpup4.31. Uninstalling the .pet, downloading it again, and re-installing it still doesn't work.
downloading unrar-nonfree from http://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian/pool/no ... 1_i386.deb, extracting it from the deb file, re-naming to 'unrar', and overwriting the pet's /usr/bin/unrar still does not work by selecting 'open with unrar' -- but does work with the console as long as there are no spaces in the filename.

EDIT: Perhaps this only worked when I was using jrb's special Puppy 4.31 with the Broadcom wl.ko wireless driver and JWM... I can't remember, but see no reason it shouldn't be working now in Boxpup 4.31.

Thanks a lot. I used an older version of unrar with previous release of puppy, however that one did not work with 431. You saved me from calling terminal everytime i need to unrar.
Btw, people you can use this too:
This takes files with spaces. Picked up that one while working on my CentOS server

unrar x "filename with lots of spaces.rar"
It seems that I need to backtrack a bit on my previous post above -- this .pet continues to work well with ROX and JWM. It does not want to play with Obenbox and Thunar. Probably an included symlink that doesn't get created under the latter circumstances, but I am not educated enough to know how to find it or fix it.
(Openbox with Thunar does not allow symlinks by default, as I understand it.)
So, with ROX file manager in standard puppies, this works. Thunar is a different beast....
BTW, somik, thank you for that very useful tip!
