Sorry, webpage-hits != users. No one really knows how many people are using any distro...

Moving target - couple of days previous it rose to 3rd! Meaning obscure. Meaningless?!

DistroWatch uses page hits as a measure of a distro’s popularity, therefore this could be thought of as anecdotal evidence about Puppy’s popularity and by extension user population. IIRC they add one to the count hit per day per IP address.

Wow, really?

For a long time it was sitting at 10th every time I looked. Then for another long time it was sitting at 8th. Now whenever I look it is at 7th.

Well, however anecdotal, it's still interesting. If it can top Debian consistently in page hits, that's saying something. What? I don't know!

...or... if "folks" are anything like me, when looking for a distro to try most wouldn't bother with anything that wasn't in the Top 10 unless personally recommended by those they know who are in the know. It is a VERY coveted position for any distro to occupy. Even making it into the Top 20 is something these days.
I CARE ... I just don't care about you!

The top 10 distros are considered "major" distributions. I pointed out that it has been a while since the list of "major" distributions has been updated on distrowatch (and naturally since Puppy has been in the top ten I wanted to see it included in the list). The site admin told me I was welcome to do my own review he was too busy to keep up with the ever changing popularity of the distros in the top ten. I'm no where near qualified to give a decent review, which is too bad because I believe Puppy deserves to be included.

Puppy is AWESOME! Many thanks to Barry and all those who make Puppy possible.

After using Puppy for a while now all other OSes seem SLOW by comparison.
