Here is the code for the network part of my .conkyrc. Hope it helps. For a wired network, I guess you would change instances of wlan0 to eth0........

Code: Select all

${color grey}Networking:   ${wireless_essid wlan0}
${color grey}IP: ${color} ${addr wlan0} ${color grey}wifi signal: ${color green} ${wireless_link_qual_perc wlan0}
${color grey}Down:$color ${downspeed wlan0} k/s -       ${color grey}Up:$color ${upspeed wlan0} k/s
${color #888888}${downspeedgraph wlan0 25,100 ff0000 0000ff}      ${color #888888}${upspeedgraph wlan0 25,100 0000ff ff0000}

Thank You DaveS but it doesn't work. I think it is a Utup problem and not the script.

Could you maybe post your conkyrc file, or at least, the bit below TEXT?
Maybe start a new thread?

@ ttuuxxx

That wallpaper is available in the wallpaper thread and also on dejan555's pupplook.tk site

@schism

I may have missed something in the compile I did for upup of conky. You could try wolfpup's compile of conky-1.7.1 but make sure you back up your pupsave first. Don't try it if you have a full install. I'll take a look in the next few days and might try to compile 1.7.1 for upup.

I just switched to icewm, gonna play with it a bit, I never really used it longer.
And this way I might make some thumbnails and stuff for puppy look and finally make some icewm pages there :D

IceWM is cool 8)

I finally got some spare time to continue my work on "Project K-9", a stripped-down puplet featuring xfce as the default window manager environment. ^^

Image

K-9 is supposed to be a starterpack instead of a full-grown distri, with only the most important programs needed to add your own set of tools (sfs containers, dotpets, or even .deb and .rpm files). However, it includes both CUPS ans SANE to make the most common hardware work right out-of-the box (I even consider adding the drivers for graphics tablets and stuff, you never know ;-)).

God, times have changed since I started working on it with barelypup (aka puppy 2.13) 2 years ago. xD

While you are in the mood for playing with icewm, there is a nice (kde I think) sound volume app that docks nicely in the RHS of the taskbar.. I think it was introduced by disciple, or HairyWill about 6 to 8 months ago. I totally forget it's name. You'd like it! ... i think it was simply called "tray_mixer"....

Jay

Humble suggestion

Add a desktop 'Help' blob containing links to useful [puppy]linux learning aids, e.g filesharing/printing/backups&savefiles etc

An intro to the [puppy] linux filesystem would be useful, too, IMHO

like this, but up to date/more puppycentric....

Image

also something like this? [again, suitably updated]

http://www.desktoplinux.org/articles/AT6545156120.html

rox?

http://rox.sourceforge.net/desktop/static.html

- video, maybe? modified version of this...

Nice Job!

:D Hello,
@Aitch, Yes, the O.S itself is easy, and probably will be Slaxerpup based. Its the help doc`s that are going to take some time..
My intention is to use Impress presentations and FLV video to explain EVERY step in detail..Possibly even a Flash video outside of the ISO, accessable from Windoze, explaining how to set the Bios, and Booting the ISO.. Everything has to be "in house", no links to the net..just to static HTML pages, Impress presentations, and Flash vid`s, as well as plain text files..
Once I get a little further along, I will open a "Beginix" thread and a release for testing... :D

A little update on my revived Puplet project. :D
K-9 now uses pwidgets for displaying some system stats (for the moment, until I finally got screenlets 0.1.2 running x3).
