I installed Puppy 4.20 last night on an old inspiron 3700 laptop... i have been using linux for about a year, Ubuntu distro, on other machines in my house. The only problem I have had so far with puppy is the fan in my laptop doesn't seem to run. As you could imagine this tends to make my machine run very hot. Is there anyone who knows if I can some how get puppy to turn that fan on?
I would not be apposed to opening the machine if that is necessary, I know that on my other machines I have found a place to plug stuff in that always has power , so if anyone just knows if this is so on that machine that would be cool also.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to help me out or just top read all this.......................... peace

I think you need the dellfand utility ... or check that your ACPI is OK.
I just posted dellfand here -
