Lost mouse

#1 Post by MattN »

I was running puppy 4.1.2 as a full install on one of my systems (it uses a usb mouse). This system was using VirtualBox to test various OSs. Everything has been working for about three weeks. Then I tried to run a mythtv live cd which managed to cause my mouse to no longer function (I know it was that live cd because it broke my sons laptop after it was run on it).

I'm now at a point where I don't know what to do. I can boot from a cd and the mouse works. If I boot from the system, the mouse is there but no control. If I try to run xorgwizard, the video fails. I need some insite on what I need to do to get my mouse to function again.

Next time you make a full install save a copy of /etc before you reboot. When you have a problem save the existing /etc to another name and copy the virgin /etc to its place.
