Maybe in 1 or 2 days, because I compiled everything for "amd64" and might not work for you, so I need to recompile it to "i686" and disable some dependencies to make it less GNOME dependent.jtouso wrote:How and where can I download your puppy 4 with compiz? (as your screenshot)

This is my Compiz Fusion package for Puppy 4. As you can see I haven't packed all the dependecies, because some files are not too important or can be found in other packages, there's no need to patch libX11+XCB also:
[P]
official pet package
[G]
it's already installed in my gnome-2.20.3.sfs
ccm
optional, for 'ccsm' and 'simple-ccsm'
gwd
optional, for 'gtk-window-decorator'
plg
used for few plugins
c-m
required only for compiz-manager

This is for the people that have installed my compiz fusion package for Puppy 4 and have problems with CCSM:

Hi, and thanks Wow for your fast answer.
You answer me: "....Maybe in 1 or 2 days, because I compiled everything for "amd64" and might not work for you, so I need to recompile it to "i686" and disable some dependencies to make it less GNOME dependent."
OK, we are now august 11 and...where to download the puppy 4 with compiz included?
Question: my I use the ati (xorg, free driver) or my I need to install fglrx (propietary-now free) driver?
Always in live mode
Thanks

@jtouso: oops. I meant the CompizFusion.pet for puppy4, Did you want an ISO, isn't it? Probably I'll never make an ISO, 'cause I don't need it. The official puppy.iso is all that I need.
@magerlab: Make sure that your video hardware is compatible and the drivers are already installed, then edit your xorg.conf file as explained in these links:

http://wiki.compiz-fusion.org/ATI%20with%20AIGLX

Or running this command if you have an nVidia gpu:

Wow:
I use Puppy 4 "dingo" in live mode. I use your 3 files:
[fusion-28Jul08pup4-i686.pet] [4.8 MB] 14.2 MB unpacked
[fusion_NLS-28Jul08pup4.pet] [3.9 MB] 12.5 MB unpacked (translations)
[xorg_xorg_full_dri-7.3.pet] [19.4 MB] [P]
I write the orders in xorg.conf (composite enable and XAANoOffscreenPixmaps)...then I ctrl+alt+backspace and xwin.
I try to run compiz typing compiz --replace and ...nothing. The terminal answer was:
compiz (core)-Error:Another window manager is already running on screen: 0
compiz (core) -Fatal:No manegeable screens found on display:0.0
I have and ATI radeon 9550 who has direct-rendering yes (glxinfo) and I use the open-source driver (ati or radeon)
Help me please

You must close/kill that window manager (icewm, JWM, openbox, xfwm, kwin, metacity, etc.) before start Compiz Fusion. Puppy-4 uses JWM by default, try to start X with any other kind of software. Examples:compiz (core)-Error:Another window manager is already running on screen: 0
xwin rxvt
xwin lxpanel (if you have installed lxpanel)
xwin fbpanel
etc.

wow:
I ask for fglrx (free but not open source ati-AMD driver) in compiled form as pet file and working for Puppy 4 ( I am using xfce puppy NOP 4). May you help?
After this, I will try your 3 files because it is impossible with the ati-opensource free drivers.
Or wait until new version Wnop or Tigerpup
Thanks

Wow:
¿Me ayudas?

Otras ideas:
- Lee esta guía: Compiz, Puppy 3.01 NOP and an ATI 9000 success story
- Otros drivers ATI [ATI fglrx 7.11 (8.43.2) video driver for puppy 3] [ATI fglrx 8.40.4 video driver package for Puppy 3.00] [ATI video driver (fglrx) 8.39.4]
- Sigue usando Puppy-3.
- Compra una tarjeta nVidia :p
Suerte.
