That version is asking for Qt5 libraries which recent versions require
BionicPup32 does not have any Qt libraries included
XenialPup has some Qt4 libraries but not Qt5 as far as I know
Makes it a little strange why that package is available in that form.
Obviously you can install Qt5 libraries (via PPM or .deb packages).
Seems like overkill to install such large packages just for a battery indicator but personal choice I suppose. In addition to libQt5Widgets it will probably ask you to install libQt5Core and libQt5Gui and maybe some others.

Thanks for the clarification..... :D

I plan on building another flash drive with Xenialpup 7.5.

Sorry, for the problems with qbat.

I was hopping the pet had what was needed for qt5 stuff.
Never that easy.

I just tried to use the pet in Xenialpup7.5
Same problem you have had.
Needs qt5 stuff.

I too find that strange that the pet is in the Xenialpup repository and it does not work in Xenialpup.

if you can use Bionicpup64 8.0 (64bit version)
qbat is already in it and working.

So far, qbat is the only battery monitor I have found that actually gives a constant readout.
The other ones work like the one that is in Bionicpup32 8.0
Only gives info when the mouse pointer is hovered over the tray icon.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

For older systems, not over-charging, not draining too low, helped extend the battery life considerably. Connecting/charging when the charge level had fallen to 40%, disconnecting when the charge reached 80% ... except if you were intending to later be out and about and wanted a fully charged battery.

Other than for some Thinkpads, I don't know of a means to set software thresholds/switching to enable/disable charging. Best you can mostly do is just set alerts to remind you to connect/disconnect from the mains supply. Another issue is that different manufacturers do/store things in different ways. Some commonality, but not always the same on different systems (laptops). So you pretty much had to figure out where to read things from according to the specific laptop you were using.

I believe newer batteries/charging internals (systems) are now more refined with maximisation of battery life in mind.
