This link might be a bit hidden in the first post. Scroll down to see the differences. Unfortunately, nothing for me with Quirky Unicorn (Barry Version) and installing the kernel directions are a bit confusing....

PET for VB 4.3.12
Is it possible to have Virtualbox 4.3.12 in a .pet format please. Compared to .pet the .sfs file is HUGE! I got VB working in Precise Puppy 5.4.1 but I where can I find one for Slacko Puppy 6.3?
Virtualbox for slacko 6.3
Hello,
First thanks for all people that contribute to Puppy Linux community. I'm a normal user who don't know much about linux but I like to try new things so I found Slacko 5.7 some years ago and started to use it in an old computer. Now I'm using slacko 6.3, pretty good puppy, but I need to use virtualbox but I can't find a version that works in kernel 3.14.55 (I think) that slacko 6.3 use. If someone could make a .pet or .sfs I would apreciate it.
Thanks again for your hard work and I hope that I don't have to install an stupid windows xp for somethings that I need to do in Windows (wine doesn't work T_T).

Re: Virtualbox for slacko 6.3
I finally got the latest Virtualbox working in Slacko 6.3.0. It was actually pretty easy and all it involved was downloading a few files. This is for 32-bit version-latest Virtualbox http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualb ... ux_x86.run Virtualbox Guest Additions(optional but highly recommended) http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualb ... 5.1.10.iso devx http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pu ... _6.3.0.sfs kernel sources http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pe ... _noPAE.sfs . You need to first install the devx and kernel sources and then Virtualbox(just click to install and follow on-screen prompts if any).Fulle wrote:Hello,

I just downloaded the latest version of VirtualBox ->I've driven myself up a wall trying to get VirtualBox running on XenialPup
https://download.virtualbox.org/virtual ... l_i386.deb
I created a frugal install of Xenial 7.5 32 bit with a 4.18.16 (i686) kernel. I installed the devx for Xenial 7.5 and the kernel sources sfs for the kernel 4.18.6 and then ran
Code: Select all

Take a look at these instructions for 64-bit install in tahr, should be similar.appelenpeerboer wrote:Hi, I'm very new to Puppy Linux, I just installed this distro. I have troubles installing Virtualbox. My puppy a XenialPup64, the kernel version is 4.9.58. I see perdido posted a 32-bit version. Could a 64-bit version be made available? Or maybe better, teach me how to do this process myself?

Those instructions should install virtualbox to xenial64 also.
Will need the devx and kernel headers packages for xenial 64-bit.
