Updated 18.06 to 18.06.1 on the i5 laptop below. Run first with the stock kernel and then with your lxpupsc64 4.17.5. All md5sums ok, sound, video, sns wifi, etc all ok after update with either kernel. Continuing to use 64b Slimjet 18.0.5.0 run-as-spot from SFS. All good there. No real difference noted in video FPS or system load at idle between kernels. Latest intel ucode downloaded and installed (microcode-20180703.tgz). Install checked with dmesg. Still no new enough code from intel for mitigation for spec_store_bypass on the second gen i5. Not surprised...
Thanks,
Edit: No optical drive in my i5 at the time of this test, so no tests reported on that. Should have noted that explicitly.

This version will autoplay audio cds and video dvds however these items are not displayed in pcmanfm so have to be physically ejected. It is thought that a new 64-bit pup-volume-monitor build is need to fix, however whereas pvm-0.1.17 appears to build succesfully it does not run correctly and bombs pcmanfm.....

Autoplay confirmed in 18.06 +2, both CDs and DVDs on the i5 based laptop. Done both for a pristine boot and for my updated savefile using the 64b 4.17.10 kernel. Audio CD can be ejected from pmusic, No eject capibility in gnome-mplayer for DVD that I see.

SSD based frugal Grub4Dos 18.06.4 install on the Fujitsu S761 i5 based laptop updated to 18.06.5 using the delta. md5sum correct, no problems seen with update or when swapping in the 64b 4.18.5 kernel to the update (All 4.18.x have been fine on the i5 and I haven't run any on the core 2 duos or Bay Trails where problems have been reported). I'm back to my own laptop with no optical drive again so no CD or DVD tests. I do add the current regulatory.db to /lib/firmware to squelch that error line in Dmesg. The kernel loads that directly now. I'd use this as my daily but I miss QTWebBrowser (32b only) as my fallback browser and it's not worth running the compatibility libs. SSD to memory throughput in this is significantly better than any of the 32 bit pups I'm running now. Really shows on first run of larger SFS based progs.

Lxpupsc1806+5 - some success
G'day peebee,
I've now got your latest LxPupSc1806+5 set up with most (if not all) my wanted apps running (screenshot).
For me, this was as hard as BionicPup1805+12 was easy. I'm still uncomfortable with 64-bit Pups and applications, particularly the complex lib directories.
As I did with BionicPup1805+12, I made a manual frugal of this latest LxPupSc via a delta and then used the savefile from my previous LxPupSc1806+3 in the new 1806+5 frugal which went without a problem.
Minor issues:
1) clutter of left panel ('Places') when trying to 'Open File' because of all my computer partitions (screenshot); fixed by removing the permission on /etc/init.d/start-pup-volume-monitor (screenshot with tidy left panel)
2) Rox is set up so 'Last modified' column is inconveniently placed to the right hand edge of the window (screenshot); as a Puppy user, I have no need of the 'Permissions', 'Owner' etc columns, but frequently need to check on when my files were modified and the file's 'Size' so like these columns 'centre stage', if not 'stage left'; woodenshoe's latest Rox version allows the columns to be dragged around but the changes are not persistent - a new Rox window has the same poor original lay-out. So this problem of mine is not one I have so far worked out how to fix
I apologise if I have missed reporting anything else I did in getting this Pup running as well as it now does - mostly it was getting my 64-bit sfs apps to behave and work, not any direct problem in your LxPupSc18.06+5.
Thanks for your ongoing work with this 64-bit Pup as well as the (for me, better trained) 32-bitser.
David S.

Hi DavidS
You are using LxPupSc64 in a way that was not really intended....
It's meant to be used with the LXDE desktop and PcManFM.....JWM and Rox are just there as "fallbacks"....
The version of Rox in LxPupSc64 is NOT the new one from woodenshoe

ROX in LxPupSc
G'day peebee,
My apologies for the lack of clarity in my post about my inability to set up ROX as I like it in your latest 64-bit LxPupSc.
That Rox (as the fortunate-for-me fallback in your LxPupSc Pups) doesn't allow movement of the column lay-out from the default.
So I ran woodenshoe-wi's modified 64-bit ROX pet in the hope of a lay-out fix.
I could move the columns with this pet installed but not permanently as each new ROX opened had the old default lay-out.
And I had forgotten that you meant this Pup series to prefer a non-ROX+non-JWM environment; I've been using the previous Pup's savefile with each recent updated version so miss the original first-start-up that earlier I had switched away from each time.
I'm sorry to say I find LXDE and PcManFM a bit too different and cumbersome compared to ROX/JWM - perhaps, it's just a case of the 'devils I know'.
Like you, I would like to see from someone interested, a full 64-bit BionicPup to complement your very nice 32-bit versions.
David S.
Postscript:
Just now, I tried an old 32-bit ROX (that is good in 32-bit Pups with an intractable ROX) in an LxPupSc1806(+3) but the result was not too good (screenshot) .
So renewing the Pup's savefile and rebooting, in this same Pup, I then tried a 64-bit ROX from another 64-bit Pup (BK's Werewolf) that has my desired default lay-out.
And now it's 'all good' (screenshot).
The good ROX file (ROX-Filer) I put in the directory /usr/local/apps/ROX-Filer/ , running from a sym-link (screenshot). I could have just copied it over the original ROX-Filer.
So now I have fixes for my minor issues with LxPupSc64 while using it in not quite the expected way .

pcmanfm
PCMANFM is displaying chronic freezes on LxPupSc64.
I've reinstalled several times (frugally) with the same result.
This seems to happen when i open a second tab and then try to switch back to the first...
Any help would be appreciated with this very fine pup.

Which version of LxPupSc64 are you using, & which kernel? I am using 18.03 with 4.14.47 kernel, & can open several tabs & switch between. (in a terminal, uname -r will give kernel detail). Could also be a video issue - trying the modesetting driver may help. (exit to prompt, run xorgwizard, select modesetting & run xwin).
I'm running lxpup64 18.06 +7 with the latest 4.18.9 64b kernel on this hardware, using the intel driver:
