@nooby

pkeys=uk as a boot parameter forces puppy to use a uk keyboard, no matter what has been set in a pupsave (or in this case, lupusave) file. psave=se would force a Swedish keyboard. This is a very crude override, but you can be sure of what Puppy should do, after setting this.

It's a one-off ...

Hi 01micko

I can confirm the problem with the uk keyboard (on two separate computers).

UK keyboard does not work, you can see this by booting livecd with

boot: puppy pkeys=uk

after a short while you get

"loading 'uk' keyboard layout ........ failed"

and then the boot pauses for 60 seconds ...

Thanks very much for the instructions and the links to the documents and gnupg dotpet.

This worked perfectly for me.

I have now validated the source, so will be able to post the updated dotpet for Privoxy 3.0.16 to the forum.

Some cards have a clash between the wireless driver and the rate control mechanism in the kernel - I had something similar with rtl8187.

See http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=35586

it may be worth your while trying to restrict the transfer rate in that way

Advice needed about how to validate a download with GnuPG

I've been trying to create a new dotpet for Privoxy 3.0.16, as this is the latest stable version.

In the past, I have taken packages for Privoxy from other distros (Slackware, Debian Sid) and used the pre-compiled executable in the dotpet, to avoid having to compile from source.

This approach ...

Hi Martin
Sorry, I'm not sure how to change default port.

A few thoughts, however:
1. https is encrypted, http is not, - so http would probably not benefit from an additional layer of security (as for https) if used.
2. Tor traffic is internally encrypted anyway.
3. Tor is anonymity software, not ...

Possibly - 0.2.0.31 is obsolete

Try 0.2.1.19 instead

Sorry, haven't been around much recently.

Tor is software that allows connection to an anonymizing network of servers. While it's possible to configure a browser to connect directly to the Tor network, it's more secure to route traffic through a proxy first.

Privoxy provides such a locally-based ...

Hi
These scripts do work, they are minimally changed from those in GuestToo's original dotpups (to avoid having to alter the scripts too much - I am no shell script expert).

To use them, I would suggest you follow the advice I gave Hayagix last year:

Some cards have trouble with rate control under recent kernels, this is certainly true for wg111v2 using rtl8187 driver and may be true for your wg111v3

Try forcing a lower rate for your network as soon as you connect, see

Mike, avidemux mostly uses its own copy of ffmpeg codecs (libavcodec library). So a recent avidemux build will have a sufficiently up-to-date internal version of ffmpeg to cope.

obtain faad2-2.6.pet , faac-1.26.pet and ffmpeg-svn-r14332.pet

Dotpets for Tor 0.2.0.34 and Privoxy 3.0.11

I recently noticed that Tor 0.2.0.31 is now giving warnings that it is obsolete.

http://www.torproject.org/ indicates that significant security holes have recently been fixed, and strongly recommends that people should upgrade to the latest stable version (0.2.0.34).

Note that the 0.1.2 ...
