My (cheating) solution to this problem was to switch to Elive 1.0 - almost as fast as Puppy on an old computer - and very easy to get Suspend/Resume (and lots of other stuff like codecs, flash, etc) working flawlessly. It is also a very stable distribution! Recommended!
Hi, I am sure most of us use mostly the same appllications every working day - so why on earth close down and always restart??? Debernardis/Rarsa's modified script is very close to working on my 2.15CE disk install (it works ONCE for me), it is lean and I guess that it does not take that much work t...

Farele, Can You even suspend and resume SEVERAL times in a row with the script - for me it works perfect once, the second time I try to resume Puppy has fallen into a coma and I have to perform a brutal power off to proceed. Anyone got a clue of how this can happen? Is there any way to "reset&q...
Hi, At last I am very close to get Suspend to Ram working properly (2.15CE)...!!! The key to success has been this script AND passing acpi=force to the kernel in menu.lst. My problem is that I can suspend once, wake it up again - works perfect, but then if I try to suspend again I get into a mode wh...
Debernardis, plus an experimental suspend script for laptops (I am not sure it will work on *your* machine). Is the script itself available to try? I am afraid that Rudypuppy is a bit to big for my old laptop  I have tried a number of ways to get my Dell600 to suspend - and suspend is normally ...
menu.lst; kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda1 ro acpi=force vga=0 I might add that at resume when I open the lid or press the power on button the hard disk turns on, the screen flashes and turn s black and the keyboard is "disconnected" - only a violent power off helps... Regards Martin
Ctrl + Alt + backspace did nothing, it seems like there is no connection with the keyboard at all - toggling Caps Lock does not put on the led for an example. Making the laptop go to sleep can be achieved in many ways - one is the script from this Puppy thread http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto...
Hi, Running 2.14 on my old laptop and it works great! I have previously tried Xubuntu, Icewm, Enlightenment and Elive and some of them have had a nice working Suspend to ram functionctionality working out of the box! I have tried to search this forum and use scripts and hints - Suspend into might wo...
Hi again, with "/root/s2ram/usr/sbin/s2ram2" and the -f option the laptop goes into suspend - but does not wake up again - hangs in a state where there is nothing on the screen - does not detect caps lock or anything else - brutal power off is the only way to get out of this ComaSuspend......

Thanks Jason, I will download the devx module. I am very impressed by the Puppy dist. I have tried Ubuntu, Xubuntu, IceWM, Enlightenment, Elive and DSL. Puppy beats them all in my old Laptop. Easy to install, wireless up and running with Wizard (Ndiswrapper), mp3s play without any hassle, surfing fl...
