I wonder if we can still disable iPv6? You can disable IPV6 but in some cases (i.e. using VPN service which masks IPV6) it will block your connection. Check it and make your choice. 1. Open with a text editor as root the file /etc/sysctl.conf (or create a new .conf file in /etc/sysctl.d directory a...

Are you suggesting that all non-intel firmware is non-free? Of course not. We are talking about wifi adapter drivers but the nonfree firmware issue is greater than wifi drivers, even linux. Android is an open source project but its use is not really free because of proprietary devices firmware. Fre...

@enrique Try to install firmware-iwlwifi with free drivers and check it. If it doesn't contain your driver, then you have to buy a free driver compatible wifi adapter (suggested) or install the non-free package (non-suggested) firmware-misc-nonfee. After the installation of non-free packages your sy...

@fred

About kernel compilation:
The last sid aufs-dkms is at v. 5.2 (https://pkgs.org/download/aufs-dkms). Have you found any newer version 5.3+ from Antix or Devuan?

Edit: @mauros As long as BusterDog is a puppy, I know I have many correcting me. Well we are in "murga-linux.com/puppy" forum. Now the real question is: What is the real "Puppy Linux" definition? I see MATE is a Desktop Environment. I guess I will stay with LXDE. I'm too newbie ...

@mauros Yes I am one of those win10 refuges. I meet BusterDog and so far it has met all my requirements. So I plan to stick to it. I like to keep only one Linux system so that I can master it. But so far I have test 10th if not hundred of different puppys. I am willing to look at another if it is a...

@mauros I see you love JWM. I do not. Rox, I do not like it neither. Thanks God he created colors to chose from. I am a fan of LXDE, I know I came from lame Win. I came from Irix (Silicon Graphics unix) and i actually prefer i3 desktop. Those task/panels etc are for people came from windows and we ...

JWM is an excellent choice for building a stable lightweight desktop, as it's written in c lang and uses a minimal amount of RAM. That's why it's the default WM for compact linux/BSD distros/OSes, like Puppy and DebianDog. The problem occurs with its menu construction. JWM configuration provides sta...

Thank you zagreb! A 32bit version is in plans, but not before stabilizing the current 64bit version. The next release will be multi-module. The kernel modules in a separate squashfs module, the basic system in another and the desktop in another one. This will ease BusterDog's kernel update and any u...
