Earl, I can see what you are saying; however, much of the discussion on the topics of fat puppy and dotpups is in the development arena. Each of these discussions leads to the next .iso release of puppy. Faster, stronger and most importantly, closer to meeting each of the goals we all hold dear. For...

I tried plugging and unplugging the thumb drive. Over and over again. Sometimes the little led would light up, sometimes not... Either way, I'm thinking the USB detection was faulty in either the laptop or the distro. Since I have about 95% success at getting it recognized with FC3, doing as you ask...

Video Driver Bug?
What is different between 1.0.2-Mozilla and 1.0.2-Opera in the way the video drivers are loaded during the boot process? When I boot my laptop with the Mozilla version (without pup001 or a place to create one), the video drivers don

Pizzasgood - I needed that post this morning... Two hours, forty minutes to work this morning. Why? Well, it rained and everyone forgot how to drive in it... Fat puppies can grow up to be skinny, and skinny puppies can grow up to be fat. It all depends on what they are fed. With a hard drive install...

Confused Puppy
Hello, Ok... I have an HP Pavilion N5470 (1GHz, 512MB RAM, 20GB HD). I have now tried both the 1.0.2-Mozilla and 1.0.2-Opera(Custom) distro versions of Puppy on this laptop. In both cases, I booted with CD-R, without USB storage, and the hard drive containing XP(NTFS) without pup001. Color confusion...

Please don't jump on to the P2P option too quickly. Most people don't understand what happens when they install the software. Some programs share the entire hard drive by default. Even if the settings can be changed to limit remote access, most people don't know where to find or set them up. This ha...

I vote to keep a splash screen on there as long as its small and loads quickly. When I had problems with 1.0.2RC (hope to try the released version tonight), seeing that pup was a good sign...

Live CD failed to boot
Hello everyone, I just popped 1.0.2RC into my HP Pavilian N5470 laptop (1Ghz, 512MB RAM) and asked it to boot... It got part way through the boot and failed... When it failed, it ejected the CD. Unleashed Intro?
Hello everyone, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the 1.0.2 Unleashed packages to start playing around. But... First, is there a list of what each package/program is and what it does? I'm not familure with a quite a few and a simple list of names doesn't help me too much. Second, is ...

<50MB Custom Build?
Hello everyone, What is the current status for the Unleashed version of Puppy? I remember seeing some stuff on it a couple of months ago, but I can't seem to find anything recent. Although I run Fedora Core 3 at home, I always carry a version of Puppy with me. First on my 256MB thumb drive (and a bo...
