From what I could make out in his email, he does seem rather interested in making it work as Puppy would like. Having the developer on our side would be a plus. :)

My questions are:
- "Is it stable enough for general use, yet?"
- "How does it compare to beaver's size?"

Dan, As you can see with Sage and Flash, the debate over using internal vs. external modems can run pretty emotional, with solid up-standing citizens on each side of the issue. History : At one time modems contained their own controller chips. This was true for both internal and external modems. Int...

I have found that when I send PMs, they stay in my Outbox until the other person logs in. I think PMs go from my Outbox to my Sent and their Inbox at around the same time the little pop-up box alerts them of their PM.

For puppyfiles.us, the following settings work:

FTP Server: puppyfiles.us or ftp.puppyfiles.us
User ID: anonymous
Password: guest or your email address or anything else (keep it clean because I do check the logs)

If anyone has a problem with these settings, please let me know.

Lobster - I'd recommend that you continue with your other distros info in a new thread so as to not confuse others about its relevancy here.

"Pubby"? Hmmmm...

jOjO - Have you checked out the "Empty Crust" or the "Bare Bones" versions of Puppy yet? They would be good starting points.

Tim, If you have the ISO file already positioned in a location that I can access from the web, then I can pull it directly from there. Also, if you upload it to my ftp server, I can coordinate getting it to Mark (MU/dotpups.de) and Ted (Ted Dog/puptrix.org) over the highspeed lines between our serve...

Anonymous FTP to /incoming at puppyfiles.us would be one option.

PM or email me once its there so I can move it to a directory to make it available for others.

It would seem that someone on that board doesn't appreciate Puppy. (It is a BSD board...)

The only thing that I can fault with your posting is the subject line "Which part of planet are you living on ?" Some might argue that it was a bit deceptive...

Re: USB Flash drive prices and bootability

In Feb 2006 I got a Sandisk Cruzer Mini 1.0 GB at Costco for $49. I think I saw somewhere here that this model is supposed to be able to boot Puppy. I have not tried because I have not yet learned how, but I would love to be able to boot my puppy 105 from my Sandisk Cruzer as well as store my pup d...

There might be an OpenOffice template for that, but I haven't looked. In the past, when I've lacked standard templates, I've made my own (back in my windowz days).

Cellphone as a modem via USB data cable?

Hello everyone, Background : On Friday, I upgraded my cellphone technology (Samsung N200 -> Samsung PM-A840). I also purchased a data cable from the Sprint store. After spending about 45 minutes on the phone with Sprint tech support (they know nothing about Linux) to find out if the cable would caus...
