I know what you are talking about with the sub fora and I've noticed they hardly see any traffic. Maybe there aren't many people who speak other languages using puppy (perhaps because they don't know how) or i was wondering if they used another forum. I'm not asking this for myself because i speak E...

How well has puppy been translated?
For the most part, documentation on the wiki is poor and when existing, usually in english, so I've found on my years of using puppy that this forum is the place to go to learn how to do things that aren't quite intuitive, but that leaves people who can't speak english a hard time figuring out how t...

This doesn't exactly answer the question about uefi. But i assume lubuntu generates its own grub menu from a script rather than a file. Most puppies are rather trivial to install manually. You unpack the iso on your hdd and in the grub menu you make an entry something like this where you set root to...

I've used the pfix parameter in the grub menu file. I think it's pfix=ram to boot without save like the op wants, but the real problem is he isn't getting the grub menu to appear because every puppy I've installed has boot with savefile and boot with no savefile as options in the grub menu by defaul...

First i recommend trying to run the generic linux 32 (or 64 if your os can handle it) version from the site in the first link https://anydesk.com/en/downloads/linux Oftentimes deb packages arent put together right by puppy and if they have generic versions, which it does, it works much better. If it...

I had a lenovo ideapad 100 15idy or something like that so I'm sure the solution should be pretty similar. I used Lick https://github.com/noryb009/lick/releases/tag/v1.3.3 I'm not sure which version i used but i think the latest one should be fine. Lick will install a version of Grub2 as a boot mana...

I would say there really isn't enough information. You don't want google to track you. Well most of the time, google won't respond to tor requests without giving you a bazillion captchas so youre probably using duckduckgo, which I guess they could be tracking you, but from a tor address they won't g...

How to Prevent Firefox Quantum from Showing Update Pop-Up
So I've been using Slacko 6.3.2 and when I got it, I got the firefox from the puppy package manager. At that time it was ff 38.8.0, which by the time I was using it was already outdated (mind you it was the extended support release, and from 2016 at that, which doesn't feel that long ago). But event...

I primarily use slacko64 6.3.2 but I also have a tahrpup, xenialpup, and fatdog (versions i'm not entirely sure) but i wouldn't mind using a different one if it would work easier. Edit: I found a solution to my problem with audacity after I followed the instructions in the first post and set the rec...

Record sound being played by the speakers/alsa? (solved)
The title is pretty self-explanitory. Basically i was wondering if anyone had a way to capture the output of the speakers in puppy?

Welcome to the forum! I believe the problem your facing is with the grub config files and not with how you saved it. You should see something like this in your grub.cfg file or lickgrub.cfg if you used lick to install menuentry 'Slacko64 6.3.2' { set root=(hd0,4) linux /slacko64-6.3.2-uefi/vmlinuz p...

Signal Messenger App -- Anyone use on Puppy?
I was curious if anyone used Signal https://signal.org/ on Puppy. I run slacko 6.3.2. To me it doesn't look easy to compile at all for anything non debian unless youre using the chrome extension.
