Busybox

@PappyPuppy AFAIK, Busybox is *a single* executable and ALL binaries it replaces (configurable at compile time), not just init, are such links to it. To "admin" it would be to edit said configuration. I could be wrong, but hopefully this helps somehow. @Mn110 ".because FD64 is my dail...

Thanks

@rufwoof Thanks! it works. As perhaps compensation, I'd suggest you check out the "video=" boot option, since it accept an interface parameter before the resolution, like DVI, HDMI and whatnot.. something that confused me, as it used to refer to drivers such as uvesafb and the like (as per...

mplayer complains of libbluray

Hello. Trying to get mplayer from Gslapt: -- clicked update, mplayer appears on search; -- libbluray was already installed; (perhaps it's a version thing?) -- mplayer-static has the same problem (which is strange) symptom: # mplayer mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libbluray.so.1: cann...

A little headway on the AppImage problems people are having: Tried to install FUSE on another box and the package manager insisted on the config file. After that the AppImage complained about fuse configuration as well. (more precisely "fuse setup", which could be merely that it could not ...

@ Dan Sure: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/OpenTTD#Music_is_not_playing configuring VLC however is much simpler. Their settings have a field for locating your soundfonts. @ step Long ago, in this very thread (IIRC) I raised the issue of OpenCL support. This will be worthy keeping an eye on: ht...

@step Works! \o/ thanks. I was under the impression 721 was only for Spectre and Meltdown, and some firmware (maybe one is req. for VB?). Tried pti=off and VB still works. Sadly, reactOS still not ready to run the only old app I need which WINE whines about. :/ so still stuck with a vestigial operat...

reporting bugs

reporting possible bugs: trying to run a virtual machine under the virtualBox SFS, complains about the kernel not having the virtual box feature. (is one of the kernel sfs needed?) I'm running FatDog720 (the sfs says 721 however) The following is related to the AppImage topic: # ./Stellarium-0.18.0-...

JCK on Wine

hello, trying to run japanese apps on Wine (like dictionaries), installed the NLS sfs and tried a few commands like: LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 wine <app_name> using different fonts (12x13ja.pc, eucJP, 18x18ja), didn't seem to work. According to the WineHQ wiki [1], one should "file a bug to their distro...

midi support

Hi, trying to get midi support working on FD. the openTTD package says to set DEFAULT_SOUNDFONT (which is empty here) while their FAQ calls for "Freepats or FluidR3". There isn't any in gslapt but Fluidsynth is already installed, the alternative being Timidity. Will installing that fix it?...

before you run AMD's installer. What exactly do you mean? I thought I'd had to either get the firmware into the kernel (that's what I've done when I got it working on Gentoo) OR, more likely, compiled as a module.. IF possible since it's more than 1 blob. (I think 'catalyst' is no more, if that's w...

openCL

hello, hoping this is the place to ask: how hard would it be to get openCL up and running on FatDog64? I once done it on gentoo, same machine, so it can be done. However I think we here use the open source driver, which I thought already had openCL working but, according to [1], is still WIP for my ...

recover from bad superblock, while checking savefile

Awesome! Couldn't wait for the new release <3 Will be putting it to the test briefly. :) will be visible when you run gslapt and you can remove it from gslapt. Any other behaviour is a bug. If you find this, can you please report One possible bug was that, while uninstalling seemed to work, the menu...

@step Cool. but remember that previous problem? I'm afraid it's gonna shadow anything that's already there. So what I'm gonna do is try that and re-link any subdirs.. since it hasn't complained up 'til now, it's probably not updated often. (there seems to be "only" npm there but, it itself...

@ jotab Hi, first thing you should try is going to Control Panel -> Updates -> Get Google Chrome. This should probably work. Otherwise, you may have to update your source repos before trying with Gslapt again. (see if the repos end with 702 (a version of FatDog) and replace it with 710). Another thi...

@ evereman To install Wine you need to load a SFS. Go to the control panel -> System -> SFS Manager then choose Wine from the list (the last item in my view). After the download, go to the SFS loader (same place), pick wine and move it to the right. If you want it to load automatically every boot, i...

@step because, as you know, some applications do not work well under root :( then, since was surfing there, how would I copy&paste between desktops? I thought "su" would be enough... anyways, re-did the commands, the output looks the same to me. here's the new one: # find /aufs/pup* -n...
