Hi guys...was wondering if anyone could shed some light into this.

Before I upgraded to 2.13 I was running 2.11 (skipped 2.12). I had no problems running xorg with video settings 1280x1024x24.

You have some gameport modules loaded for your soundblastercard, but as the joypad is attached via usb, they should not be used.

try to type
modprobe usbhid
modprobe uhci_hcd
though I fear that won't change anything.

At moment I have no further idea, sorry :(

I guess i know what i did... I installed two different zsnes and was trying to open the non-functioning one.... :oops:

Puppy's version of zsnes feels much faster than my Unbuntu one. Now if the gamepad works i'll be in snes ...

I instaled snes9x and zsnes... (i really like snes.... =D )
Snes opens, but shows weird fonts on two rpg games i downloaded.....
zsnes doesnt even run!! (does it have a gui or what?!)- when i try to run it complains about some error in some line 2 or whatever....-

What can i do?!?!

please do this in Ubuntu:
type in a consolewindow:

lsmod > ~/lsmod.txt

tar -czvf ~/joypadstuff.tar.gz ~/lsmod.txt /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Then attach joypadstuff.tar.gz from your homefolder to a forummessage.
This might tell us what is needed to get it working in Puppy.

I had zsnes on this PC when it was running Windows. I saved them on my ZIP disks, which incidentally works flawlessly on Puppy. I've got Ubuntu installed on this PC as well and it was a pain to set up the ...

I'm definitely no computer expert but I have to say Puppy has re-sparked my interest in getting to know my PC again.

I remember back in the day when the Commodore 64 ruled the world and every kid tried to make their own games on it using BASIC! I remember helping my friend type out this adventure ...

I haven't tried that particular emulator, just Epsxe (PS1 emulator). It needed a plugin to handle gamepads or joysticks. I don't know if ZNES works that way or not.

As for my commands, they shouldn't have output. Usually when you modprobe something, output=error.

I get an error then, but maybe only because I have no joystick.

Hello again! :) I installed zsnes from the link above. It works perfectly except it doesn't see my joypad. I've got a Microsoft Sidewinder Plug & Play Game pad with USB. Any idea how to make it work?

At the moment if I use a wallpaper with a dark background you can't see the text of those desktop icons. I know its being picky but is there a way to change the text of those desktop icons from black to white (for example) so i can read it?
