If only puppy would be ported to the ARM cpu, this would be an ideal device..
Handheld puppy...with adequate internal flash + ram + addon memory cards.

Interested in cross compiling puppy for other architectures?
I'd like to put out a proposal out there for anyone interested in cross compiling puppy. I've started a wiki for a project I call Skypilot which could be a starting point at collaborating if there's enough interest in contributing. I've been playing with my nokia 770 tablet a lot (which you should l...

Here's the T2 Script
The T2 project page is here: http://puppylinux.com/pfs/index.html
I'm not sure if that's enough information but I'd love a port to PPC & Arm architectures.

I came here specifically searching for this topic. It's been brought up before as well . One thing that prompted me was this post about mypaint being ported to the tablet and the thread about mtpaint . I recalled mtpaint being bundled with puppy as well as a slew of other very useful and small utili...

The first one works with a FRUGAL install only. The second with a FULL install. The reason they are different is the location of the Puppy files - in FRUGAL they are in RAM. I too have noticed that the PUI creates a menu.lst file for Grub that wrongly places the kernel in a COEXIST install. That's ...

3. Configure Grub to boot to that partition title PuppyLinux (on /dev/hda4) root (hd0,3) kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 initrd /initrd.gz Does anyone know why the above works but using the following kernel line does not work: kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/hda1 I believe the puppy universal installer cr...

Re: Should I upgrade to 2.14 or 2.15CE?
In terms of maximizing speed it will be slightly faster but a frugal install is still much better in terms of ease of upgrading and maintenance.WhoDo wrote:On your machine a Full or "Normal" hard drive install is best, rather than a Frugal hard drive install.

Issues getting a website to work properly with defaults.
The website is http://www.925jackfm.com/. When I click on listen live nothing happens. I figured out I had to go to Edit > Preferences Under Privacy & Security > next to "Block unrequested popup windows" click "Allowed Sites" and enter "http://www.925jackfm.com/" Th...

What is the proper way to pass the init option to the kernel
I've been getting Kernel Panics and it's probably related to the grub entry. What puppy created by default didn't work so I tried customizing it based on articles mentioned on this forum. This is what I'm using but it gives an initrd error. Does someone more familiar with it see what the problems is...

I don't know if this helps but I put 3 web based todo apps on the Puppy 2.15CE Web Based Applications Page.
I haven't used any local apps for todo in puppy yet but if I did I'd probably use siag, gnumeric on ooCalc.

frugal install

Thanks for the feedback, Nathan. I had no idea grafpup came with Kino or had plans to include video tools. There's one I haven't seen mentioned I just came across but haven't check out yet called kdenlive and Fiberflinger - the alternative to after effects you're probably thinking of is jahshaka . A...
