Do you have enough memory? 2Gb. I thought swap files were supposed to fix this. It seems odd that steam would be so hungry for resources since it's really just a kind of bloated browser. Notwithstanding Steam's outlandish requirements, is this kind of behavior from PPM the way it's supposed to work...

is this a random event or happening after a while? It happens within 5 minutes of turning the system on without fail and regardless of what I'm trying to do. If I left click on the icon it probes the drives to find that I indeed do have 13Gb still free but continues to flash and tell me lies. Oddly...

Strange behavior of personal storage.
When I boot the system the personal storage tells me I've got 14 Gb personal storage space with 13 Gb free.
![Image](https://i.imgur.com/3CvPi41.jpg)
Then all of a sudden, for no apparent reason it starts flashing red and tells me it is 0 Mb with 0 Mb free.

Why?

Steam update problem.
Trying to update the Steam client and it tells me it has no space to do so. see https://i.imgur.com/V9cr9eZ.jpg for screen shot with error message and other info. Xenialpup 7.5 installed on USB, ext3, folder not savefile. Any ideas how to proceed? EDIT: OK so it gets worse now and incredibly confusi...

Thanks for all the info and help people, I really appreciate it. @mikeslr, I've read a few horror stories about bleachbit chewing up systems. At the moment, it's early days for me so I'm wildly thrashing around and hopefully learning from my mistakes and I'm not too concerned if I have to start over...

Did you install it from the Puppy Package Manager or did you download it and then install it? I had to download it on a different system and transfer it to a USB and install it that way because the system I'm trying to install onto has no network capability at the moment (needs an ethernet cable an...

@ bigpup I couldn't get the pets to work so I tried Xenialpup 7.5 instead. Here's where it gets complex so bear with me. The boot sequence gets to Xorg Wizard... Starting X, specs in/etc/X11/xorg.conf etc. Then it says Exited from X and gives me a # prompt. Not so good. When I run hardinfo however i...

How to use BCM4352 USB wifi adapter in Tahrpup?
Hi all. My wife's laptop (HP Pavilion) struggles hard with Windows 10 so I decided to put Tahrpup 6.0.5 on a USB and see how it goes. It goes well as it turns out except one problem... wireless internet doesn't work. Basically I've spent the last several hours reading everything I can in the beginne...

Horrible default colours for terminal
Whoever chose the default colours for the terminal in Tahrpup should be shot. Seriously, light green on sky blue is completely impossible to read. I have to simultaneously navigate with ROX just so I can see what I'm doing. Please for the love of invisible sky wizards someone tell me how to change it.

What you have failed to mention is: The usual suspects: Processor speed, Memory - how much is important; Hard drive and video. It all matters! Please state MEMORY. It's a dual core pent IV running at 3.06 GHz and has 2 GB memory... but this is kind of beside the point... puppy is now running (I'm t...

Am I correct in assuming that you no longer have the computer for which you burned FatDog to a USB-Key in order to deal with its virus? Yep. It was a laptop that is now landfill afaik. Also, Since starting this process, my wife has upgraded her (this) laptop to win 10. Not sure that will make any d...

How to create a live Puppy CD in WinXP?
So I have this old computer (no idea of the specs... but it runs win XP ok) and I want to play around with puppy so I decided to create a bootable puppy CD with tahrpup 6.0.2. In the past I've successfully created bootable USB drives with Fatdog for a laptop in order to remove a virus so I thought t...
