Thank-you
for this session first....funny max-file size is so small...on another machine here running 810 it is almost 10X the size. I am guessing it gets calculated based on RAM or something during boot(?) of which this system has relatively little. It ran 630 like a champ in its day. Edited: "I remembe...

No disk NTFS is mounted on the system
that was a dd'd iso image with a save folder on sdb3 (ext2). The exact dmesg error that closes out internet is: VFS:file-max limit 44818 reached Could this refer to refer to port? Look at this article: https://www.speedguide.net/port.php?port=44818 It happened again in the middle of the night last n...

Using create_ap on Fatdog 810
I cannot find this on the create_ap forums. Long story short: migrated old Dell laptop from 630 to 810. Broadcom wireless no longer recognized, even after enabling drivers, etc. So I used external usb Realtek and directed create_ap to use hostapd-rtl-2.6-x86_64-1 . For some reason this magically dou...

Clue to clicker freezing under Radeon
and if I didn't use a savefile...after a few minutes of inactivity. Now, for the first time (on a happily stable install) I enabled the screensaver. It worked...and when it came back the clicker did not work even though the mouse movement brought life back. Also the top couple cm's of the screen was...

Thank-you for all the quick Firefox feedback
I commented out all three (one by one) sections in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-radeon.conf and X failed to strart in any iteration. The "boot/radeon" selection also failed. The "really bad graphics card problems" boot entry worked after some screen mosaics, so I then installed ...

Identical Fatdogs---one hangs
As long as I just read a lengthy cursor-handling problem thread, I thought I'd ask for any advice about this: 2 spanking new Lenovo laptops, same USB Fatdog 802 (cloned) One of them (Intel) runs latest Firefox like a charm. The other (AMD) boots half of Firefox, PAINTS HALF THE SCREEN IN JAGGED BLAC...

Thank-you for this great iso
Let me share two things: 1)I was so happy with the performance of my Lenovo Ideapad with this release I bought second. I discovered hibernation couple with the fact that bluetooth is on the same chip disable the clicker (not the mouse) so I worked around those. 2)My surprise was the second machine I...

Re: I've encountered a couple of other small issues
CUPS also doesn't work for me (it hasn't since 631), but this version has a better debugger. It appear to be looking for Ghostscript in /usr/bin and escape-wrapper files which I have been supplying one at a time without any success yet. I'm printing to an Epson XP-430 new about a year ago. The ghos...

I've encountered a couple of other small issues
Not that anyone using WPA_GUI should care but my version if the network-setup.sh will not store more than one password at a time. When I configure it for a second network the first is lost and vice-versa. CUPS also doesn't work for me (it hasn't since 631), but this version has a better debugger. It...

Re: Good deal
Can you please open a terminal when wpa_gui is missing, and type /etc/init.d/50-Wpagui status /etc/init.d/50-Wpagui restart Anything printed to the terminal? Before I took this shot I noticed wlan0 coming up very early in the boot process with no mention of wpa-gui. See screeshot. After this the ca...

Re: Good deal
Wpa_gui is disabled after boot and won't restart on own or thru Control Panel. Card is listed as antenna up and active, not blocked ... PPS After use of save folder configuration was saved and connected to wireless automatically, but WPA_GUI vanished. Control Panel says it is marked to start at boo...

Is there a simple setting I am missing?
on my new Lenovo IdeaPad. Even after creating save folder, configuring desktop...etc. For instance, after a fresh boot if I don't start using it with a couple minutes, cursor moves great then nothing clicks (hard reboot necessary). Same if I let it sit thereafter. Could this be tied to some security...

https://github.com/tomaspinho/rtl8821ce That will be included in beta. I' m sure it works fine but I promise to give it a work out when I'm back with my new Lenovo from sunny Barcelona in a couple days... Thanks for the response
chiefengineer, There is a 8812au driver included. There's several 8812au drivers out there. The one we included worked the best for the folks on team Fatdog that have that device, hopefully it works for you too. We don't have the 8821ce, if you post a link to the source we may include it if it buil...

Realtek Wireless Drivers
I have a need for both of these. I have compiled and run them happily under other Linuxes but always prefer Fatdog (of course). One is internal and the other a USB dongle...the GIT repositories I used required DKMS. I must admit I am a little hesitant to just start blindly compiling for this distro,...

OK. https://tutanota.com/ But I often get to it through tutanota.de The email gurus there seem to think this is something tied to "locale" , which is set to US everything. On the other hand, it runs flawlessly under a TOR script which changes nodes randomly all over the globe during the se...
