Firefox too big for Puppy 5.2.8 screen. What to do?

Hi i have a small but quite annoying problem with puppy 528. fire fox is slightly bigger than my screen , which means i cant scroll down or callapse the page,

also its extremely small writing any ideas

, the link says your not alone and that their is a code for freing up the bios, you just have to find it. if you post you model number up on that site they may provided it for you, they have for others

in side the lap top there is a second battery, like a watch battery, if you remove it it wipes ...

it also seems that taking the lapy apart and removing the battery works ? or if soldered in, you could resort to the old dodge of putting it in the freezer for a week

you cant find it where ?

if you mean youve downloaded and and now you cant see it to open itwhere your correct, you need to down load image burner or iso buster, run those with iso selected as the file type and it will be there

if you mean something else, give us a clue

puupy is less dependent processors as much as ram, but il guess thats got a gig of two of ram ? in which case its space age in puppy terms

I already booted up from flash-hdd (DSL) but even though I got connected to the web this's too limited an os as is. I'm going to try a live cd now.

Note: It's getting too late & need to sleep, so after this trial I'm shutting down. Thanks!

can we take it right back to basics ? what machine have you used to burn your cd and what v of puppy are you using ? thats a late machine there is no good reason why it wont boot up
to state the obvious, either your cd reader is broke or you live cd is suspect, or if youve burn it on another machine ...

no you dont need a hdd to boot puppy from disc, that rather the point of it, you used the cd as the hard drive and save any thing you wont to a usb stick

does the cd drive work, if so your off and running

hi, ive just done a frugal install of 214 by 9 and 10 and it wont recognise mt eithernet conection say no modem/interface detected, , other versions of puppy conect up with no bother

there is another thread where the guy is trying to do some tec difficult for no apparent reason, the reason you cant boot from wi fi, is that in order to boot you need to turn the machine and the wifi off and the wifi wont reappear till windows starts which it never would if puppy started, if you ...

i know its possibly a stupid question, but why dont you just boot the hp from disc and stick a memory stick in the usb or install it on the usb ?

or is this a project over and above just getting the hp working

having a swap partition set up is quicker than a file, but with half a gig of ram, i doubt you l use it
