I always liked Pnethood, but Carolina doesn't come with it.

It does have a great network discovery tool build into the file manager.

Have you clicked on "network" in XFE file manager in hte left panel?

Yes I agree Pnethood is great. I found a version in the Carolina Puppy Packet manager and ...

Maybe LazY Puppy OS is a bit outdated for your wifi card. Probably L.A.S.S.I.E. will recognize it?

If not, a post in the hardware section probably will be much ...

PNethood on Carolina Vanguard

I have used pNethoood with no problem on Saluki
It just connects straight away to the shared drive on our network

In Carolina Vanguard I get the attached error log saying it failed to mount.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Only just found this and can't wait to try it on my Saluki. Hopefully it will work on there it's a long time since I installed anything new.

Tried and tested on Saluki 023 and works a dream. Thank you Shinobar this makes a huge difference to Saluki and other puppies I think.

I then worked out how to open the terminal in the right directors.

so far so good.

Now I used the make command and got the following output:

# make

Re: Broadcom Wifi

[

14e4:4727 is not supported by b43 driver and the warning is given "BCM4313 is not fully supported" for the brcm80211 driver.

So you probably do need the proprietary wl driver - which is kernel specific and I don't think has been compiled for the 3.18.1 kernel..... I can provide sources if ...

Re: Wifi

Odd, I thought the Broadcom issue was resolved awhile ago. As Mike pointed out in the old post did a reboot resolve anything? Though I'm not sure why that would make a difference.

What's the model number for the Broadcom device?

Yes I thought I had read that the Broadcom issues were resolved ...

After using Saluki since its inception I thought I would finally give Carolina a spin.

Booted up beautifully and I love the look and feel. One major problem though is no wifi.

Booting Saluki my wifi network is found straightaway. On Carolina no such luck. Seems it can't see my Broadcom card ...

Re: portable firefox 0.6

Hi shinobar.
Thank you so much for this portable Installer. I feel that this creation is an extremely important feature in puppy. I am using it since version 0.5 and it works great with puppy precise 5.7.1.
Finally I am able to get rid of Seamonkey which never worked for me.
Thanks again.
