I don't have any specific argument under grub/burg that force fsck - BUT i can see during boot that the system does indeed perform fsck (and I think it's ) for the 3fs personal file.

Here is the USB 3.0 Linux driver, which was not enabled in the standard Puppy 5.1.x kernel.
The driver is called xhci
I have also included the upgraded isp1760 USB driver, which is apparently USB 3.0 compatible, though very few Puppy users will ever use this driver because the relevant interface ...

As funny as this my sound.... The last time I complied the kernel - I've run "make mrproper" and then started to look for the ".config" file.... which of course was deleted because of the command I ran before it.

As far as I can tell - both versions uses the same kernel version: 2.6.33.2

The BIG question remains - How to get a copy of the original ...

Go to /usr/lib/cups/backend and open the file pdf-writer. Line 69 is
PUPPY_LINUX=`uname -a | grep -ic puppy`
Change "puppy" to the new hostname. Don't accidentally delete the final back-tick character.
