Thanks 01micko, your two pets resolved all my issues with mount and open from the desktop icons. Icon Flags function correctly too.

@Shocker: I cannot reproduce your problem. I made a flash drive install of Xenialpup and drive icons work properly (except that mine are missing the little "mounted" symbol in the corner).

I suspect that there is something wrong with your flash drive setup.

I have the same issue with the flag ...

Long time puppy user, t2, upups, slackpups and etc. Whenever i plug in a flash drive be it sda or sdb1,2,3, the drive is recognized and an icon/icons pop up. In every pup so far all i do is click on the icon the partition is mounted and OPENED! With xenialpup it always opens pmount? I don't want to ...

This is a great release. I've been a puppy user and fan for about four years now. Slacko is fun and powerful. Most pup distros are truely amazing, but have something not quite to my satisfaction. Everything works here but I have one issue---the size of the multimedia packages

I commented in another forum about puppy squeeze 009 listed VLC 1.1.1 in dedicated archive. Alas. it was not compiled for root. I'm not at all interested in VLC 1.0.6 it is outdated and lacks many features of 1.1.x !

I did find a VLC 1.1.1 root version here ( puppy.b0x.me/software/packages ...

As gposil is no longer maintaining his dpup I checked out Squeeze 009 and dropped into debian dependency hell.

The puppy package manager put a lot of stuff into /root but could not find 3 or 4 libs and of course the programs would not work.

I think you are working on the problem ...
