I read the post provided and tried it that way, but it's not the right thing. the only listing of the device is /dev/usbdev1.2. in gtkdialog, i put this in but it only asks if i want to connect using.... i say yes and it stops - nothing else happens. ...

Is there a driver or means to adapt the mac software so I can use this on the newest wary? Thanks in adva...

Darkgame, What version Puppy are you using? The newest (Lupu 5.2) has the vbox sfs - check quickpet under sfs tab. When you first run it it will tell you that there is a new version (4.0.4) available and direct you to the website. then just unzip the tarball. that is how I installed it. Only problem...

Thanks guys! I went back, totally cleaned the HDD (did a HDKill that put it back to low-level format), booted the recreated liveCd, ran Gparted to get a partition, then did a frugal install. power-off'd the system, saving the save file but not copying the Lupu-520.sfs to disk. Did this on 2 seperate...

Keeping Changes on the Remaster (and on the next boot)
I've been working and trying to understand the concept of remastering a liveCD while keeping the changes you make to the system (i.e. adding pets such as wbar, pwidgets, adobe, etc). I'm using Lucid 5.2 about 256 Mb ram and 40Gb Hdd. So far I have been able to sucessfully remaster my changes to the ...

Hey guys, Hoping this thread still al ittle active. Finally got a functioning copy of my frugal install to burn; everything where it is supposed to be. One of the few remaining problems is that the Pwidgets don't load at startup when booting from the new CD. Thought I had seen a posting about how to...

Unexperienced Wine-drinker needs help
Hey guys, Still pretty new at this linux and puppy thing, so bare with me.... Just installed (via PPM) wine 1.1.43 (all default settings) on my fresh install of lupu 5.2. Set it on a 9GB frugal install. Tried to install one of my most often used Micro$haft based programs (is a 3rd party software) an...

:D W0oho0 :!: Sucess! Thanks a lot guys, that worked great! Just a tid-bit here for ya; found that if I edit the 'desktop-icon-theme' file after the remaster creates the /initrd/mnt/Puppylivebuild/etc (file is in the directory) and change it to the theme I want it works as well. That may be the simp...

remaster with icons
I've been working on remastering my changes to my install (see thread http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=65067 ) - first from HDD, which seems nearly impossible (ie way too difficult) - so I went to a frugal install. I've been able to remaster keeping my settings except for my icons. W...

Re: Puppy 5.3 Pre Alpha [Not yet available]
01smokey, I'm sure you know this already, but maybe others don't, the 'dir2sfs' (should be in Lucid 5.2, I think), can be used to very easily build your own sfs files... I personally use a script I made called 'pets2sfs', which extracts all pets to ./files (in the current dir).. It hen packs them u...

Following up some (the long of the short version)
Hey all, Ok, so i've been playing around and have finally gotten my first customized deriviant burnt. Was forced to do a frugal install, the HDD when booted by the cd kept running out of space (i assume in ram or personal storage) and would not complete. rjbrewer , thanks - the remaster t&e help...
