hey thanks, Lobster!

I appreciate it.

I read yours. It is quite thought provoking and avant-garde, indeed.
I liked "get behind me, Buddha."

Yeah, SF is great.

My fave authors to be Thomas M. Disch, Bradbury, thats all i can think of for now.

Day of the Dog
by Walter W.
It was your average Tuesday. Well, not exactly average. What ended up happening altered the course of human history as we know it, so one could hardly call it average. It was seemingly an ordinary day, and no one could have predicted or expected what was to take place ...

I'm running little BASH scripts that I wrote myself.

They don't really seem to multitask, they just do what i described,
run and ctrl-c or z has no effect.

A real app does work however.

i hope this answers Beems question.

I'd like to have say, my scripts running 2 or 3 at a time..

thx

Multi-tasking from the console

I read that to multi-task a program from Linux,
all you have to do is type the program name
and then a '&' after the name and enter it from
the command line.

Supposed to, run the program in the background.
But I try this from Puppy, and it does do something
different, it runs the program and it ...

ah,

i couldn't be more serious.

good point about the calculators, though.

** yeh, and 3D grafx should definitely be made
standard, or built-in, so one does not have
to install xorg/dri pets..

that's good idea

first line of a BASH script

isn't it supposed to be

#!/bin/bash

so you can run the script without having to type './'

it won't work on mine.

i think a re-release of 431 with Audacity built-in would be good.

and throw Jackbeat in there, too.

and trim some fat away, like lesser used apps, like have only 1 calculator, or something oh and Gimp built-in would be good too.

Remember, it's all in a name.

How to change login (console) prompt from #?

is there an easy way to change the standard '#' prompt i get
in Pup 4.3.1 console mode?

i want a nice 'Wally>', you know?

also, i try 'login' command and I get 'Puppypc login' in response.
i type anything then it asks for a password.

such a noob question...
