How to completely shutdown Windows 10 so that GNU / Linux works properly on a dual system.

in LUCID 5.7.1

I installed pulseaudio-2.1-lucid.pet
and load on fly
skype-4.3.0.37-pulseaudio-precise.sfs

next, in terminal

# preciseaudio --start
# skype


Right click over the bottom right speaker, select complete window ...

Simpler, with ROX go to /lib
locate libudev.so.0.11.1 and copy it and rename the copy to debudev.so.1
then download popcorn-time-0.3.3_beta.pet from
http://repo.mamalibre.com.ar/pub/puppyl ... 3_beta.pet
install it.
Works ok.

I installed Calibre portable in wine in Puppy Precision 5.4
The program opens good but doesn't connect with the Kindle.
The Kindle appears in the desktop ok.

It a trial for 30 days (or runs?).
It is good but old, and not runs with the fluidity needed in for a CAD user.
Now I am trying the version 9 (the latest one), in Muppy 083f.
I dont uninstalled the 6 version.

Click it and extract in /usr/lib/codecs
I use Mplayer in Muppy
It runs ok including sound.

I am using a HP laptop, Pavilion DV9000, and trying to WIFI connect . It has the ugly Broadcom bcm43xx.
Until serie 4.11 all was OK, sometimes directly, sometimes using ndiswrapper and W$ inf files.
But with 4.12 series it does not connect. I try the plain Barry´s version, the 4.12 NOP , BoxPup 4.12 ...

Speaking of Muppy Mini 008. Running Impress the powerpoint files shows the slides show correctly but with no sound.
Then, I installed ppview.exe using the w$(wine) entry with same result.
With Gxine, Mplayer, sound is OK

I use Windows each day to draw with Intellicad.
The rest of the time I use Puppy 4beta2. It is a great little thing. A pleasure.

Opera does all firefox does. The reciprocal is not true.

Opera all the way. No other browser is plenty of features that makes the navigation a pleasure.

To suit my needs I need replace Gxine with Mplayer as Gxine does not handles DivX subtitles, and replace the sound mixer with the old Xtmix as new mixers does not allow to connect the microphone to run Voip phones, as X-ten X-light.
May you help us ...

Skype works OK in John Murga's version Puppy 2.02 Opera that includes Xtmix.
