Hi jd7654, File sys on sda1 is fat16. Thanks for the idea of copying grldr and menu.lst files to another partition. May try that later. For now I solved boot problem by re-installing Linux Mint 18 which I was trying until found would not recognize wireless card (still trying to solve that when time ...

/dev/sda1 where the MBR, grldr and menu.lst are located has a 'diag' flag which is there due to the original Windows install setup as it is a Windows Diagnostic partition. The 'boot' flag is on partition sda12, which would be the last install of a full Linux version. However, this is the normal flag...

Kernel is 3.14.64, x86.64

Thanks for command info.
I have looked at the post for the driver, but finding it a bit confusing so far as I have not attempted anything like this before, just simple pet loading.

Didn't realize the name/model of the adapter would make a difference as far the the driver for the chipset driver was concerned, but here it is. Hope it helps.

Realtek rtl8821au driver

Hi fellow Puppy users. My wireless adapter for my Tahr Puppy powered machine just died. Ordered a new USB adapter hoping the driver would already be in Tahr Puppy as the last USB adapter worked just fine out-of-box. No such luck. Does anyone have information on a driver PET for the rtl8821au? Thanks

Hi All, Thanks to bigpup for the 'Startmount' .pet link. Installed & works perfectly for mounting the usb NTFS partition. Thanks to Geoffrey for looking into the problem with Pmount. Hope a solution is not too difficult - it would be good to have the 'built-in' method mount usb NTFS partitions p...

Changed from Auto Mount in Pmount to just using desktop icon. Does solve the problem, but not as convenient. Here is info from 'mount' command & permissions shown for usb drive folders: ------------------------- Mounted via Desktop icon: /dev/sdb1 on /mnt/sdb1 type fuseblk (rw,relatime,user_id=0...

Thanks for your help. I will experiment with using / not using the savefile & see what happens. I will also change the auto-mount & mount it with the desktop icon to see what that does. It seems to me that it originally worked OK, but at some point just started acting this way; but I don't k...

I have it set up for automatic mounting so it is ready to go.
I have not seen any error messages.
It is available for file viewing and I seem to be able to modify existing files, just not create new ones.
