Electronic voting will take here tomorrow and i was discussing the GPL dilemma due to secrecy of authorities about the software. They changed it to customized android forks, but no code is shown, even kernel, what violates GPL.

Then i found why GPL exists. When the case was released, devs excused ...

I am afraid that AGP based graphics cards do not work well with Tahrpup, due to KMS(kernel mode setting) which is a default on ...

Two questions.

- I have an Intel centrino, which doesn't support PAE. New 6.0.6 still support this CPU?
- Kernel Issues with Pupdial at 6.0.5. Doesn't connect due to lack of support of PPP filtering. Also, dialer doesn't let the authentication fields empty. My ISP doesn't use passwords to connect ...

One question 01micko. Why the decision to keep Mesa 9.1.7 on Slacko?

As i pointed in a previous post, many bugfixes for some cards are on 10.x (like AMD Radeon HD 5000 series and later). Currently, Opera 38 has acceleration issues not shown in previous releases, two related to Mesa (now i need ...

I tried Parabola Linux (Arch based) due to a nice optimized Intel driver for my netbook, the ****ing system was hanging every 30 seconds thanks to a bug in a service (logind). Few documentation available about the bug, after finding the quirky service. Once i disabled some text in logind.conf, i can ...

Glamor is working partially, i found UXA acceleration references in Xorg.0.log and this isn't OK for Glamor work.

I found some hacks for Intel driver building, but i don't have idea which source code files are affected.

01micko, exist plans to use Mesalib 10/11 for next Slacko?

I upgraded old Mesalib 9.17 to 9.25 and xf86 driver to fix many issues with my AMD Radeon HD 5450 (like glitches on Flash 21 and performance gaps), but major fixes for AMD and Intel open source drivers are on 10.x. which is impossible to ...

I tested MesaLib 10.6.9 in TahrPup with sucess, is a huge improvement for Intel driver (fixes many performance gaps). However, Glamor no longer works because points a module not present (2_dri.so i guess) and i can't compile 2d Driver (xf86) because doesn't recognize xorg files and some dependencies ...

I adopted Tahrpup since i changed my netbook and Intel Atom N270 is unable to run 64 bit OS (my current Olidata OX is older than my previous Compaq Mini). All is OK except Intel graphics and touchpad support, because first one is buggy with Opera (Mesalib to be accurate) and second has no solution ...

Tested Glamor on Tahrpup after seeing modules (it works ootb) and is a bit slower than UXA acceleration on my Atom N270 (need to add one module and change AccelMethod in xorg.conf). Maybe later Intel graphics can take more advantage.

The only bad is my Puppy only takes 32-36 MB for graphics, when ...

My Atom N270 suffer a lot with Opera (specially with Flash and alternatives still buggy)

For that AMD series, try first with free driver before any move to propertiary driver. Some dudes with Slacko 64 ran L4D2 with Steam using free driver.

And FYI, if you have Intel netbooks (Intel Atom N270 or better), try using DRI3 on TahrPup. I was surprised when i saw in Hardinfo the DRI3 support ...

propertiary Radeon driver can correct this but fglrx fails at compiling

Tried to install AMD catalyst drivers in Fatdog using the driver from ibiblio packages (AMD Athlon x2 2.4 and AMD Radeon HD 5450). I got segmentation fault when i try to enter GUI to config.

Seems that free radeon driver still running at boot, but seeing modprobe config files (etc/modprobe.d) is ...
