Mark this one solved. Couldn't stand idly by. I looked back over my work and found a typo in the rule I had written. Where the KERNELS was written as 2-2. It should have been 2-1. The rule as it was written was fine, just didn't proof my rule. Good info anyways. If anyone wants to specify their peri...

[SOLVED] Writing UDEV Rule for peripherals
I currently have Wine installed on Puppy 5.2.8 with an amateur radio program running, providing data through my terminal node controller (TNC) and radio for the local area. The TNC is connected via USB. When it is connected, it is given /dev/TTYUSB0 or whatever one wins when the program is booted. I...

Start up a program and delay its execution
In starting up Puppy 5.2.8, I understand how to create a symlink whereby dragging the executable file to the Startup file and selecting link (relative). Now, how can I delay its execution? When puppy starts, I want it to open the browser. Only problem is, when the browser opens up, the internet conn...

Firewall on / off does not turn firewall off
Just loaded 5.2.8.
In searching for a printer, I have to turn the firewall off. Right clicking on the icon, I select Firewall On/Off. Select Off but it does not turn the firewall off. Selecting Remove at boot and it turns it off.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Problem with FTDI USB serial modem and Virtual Port
I found and posted to this post How to set up an FTDI USB to serial modem adapter but am probably better starting a new one. I have a USB Serial modem that has an FTDI chip. When I dmesg, it is recognized and shows it at /dev/ttyUSB0. In wine, under the dosdevices, I have added a sym link (ln -s /de...

There may be a simple command I can run to get this done but I am not finding it. After reading the instructions (for an older pup), I have not been able to get my FTDI USB Terminal Node Controller to be recognized when connected. I have a Terminal Node Controller that I use with amateur radio softw...

I'm a bit puzzled as to why you need to go that route at all Puppy's networking may be a bit cranky, but you shouldn't need to update any modules What problem created the need? Aitch :) I am currently at work and pulling from memory... My ethernet card is an Intel 86522-2 chip on a Dell Optiplex 75...

How do you use Make Install?
I was trying to run/update a module for my network interface. When I got to the terminal, the instructions required me to run: make install. I received the error: Bash: Make: command not found I have done an immense amount of reading within puppy and cannot locate any reference indicating that I sho...

Pet Library empty
Clicking on the PET Install icon on the desktop and following with opening the PETget package manager, the icon for "all" and "Official Puppy4" is selected but the listing is blank. Is something corrupt to cause this? Have I possibly deleted something pre-maturely, by accident? (...

I booted the computer from the CD Rom where I had originally downloaded the 4.3.1 version. I found the two files you mentioned and loaded them in the proper directory. It cleared part of my error. The USB error is cleared. I did not take notes when I tried to load some of the programs so I am extrac...
