don570, Thanks for this RasPi distro. You have given instructions for compiling but the link to the devx is now broken. Can you re-upload please. The animation of the desktop pic is neat. I can't see how mtpaint is updating it. I'd prefer a static pic for now if that's possible? When I set one (with...

Yes, use of old HDD would be another advantage to USB boot.

They should let you set the timeout to 99s. Have you tried non-Pi power for the HDD? eg powered hub or a Y-cable that some HDDs came with. You might get disc to spin-up before powering-up the Pi.

Two bootcode.bin files

TeX Dog, That's disappointing. Do you agree bootcode.bin is needed in the USB FAT32 partition (though it is not executed) along with the rest of the image files. Also that bootcode.bin should be simply copied from the current Raspbian download to the onboard SD card. Anyway, they do point out that i...

Boot a RasPi 3, 2 or 1 from a USB device

Pakt,

It seems you can boot a RasPi 3, 2 or 1 from a USB device using bootcode.bin-only boot mode.

https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... bootmodes/

Saves on shuffling sd cards.

downloaded from archive.org thanks ally

ally,

Thanks. I did look on your archive.org page but it's dated 2014 and does not list rasPi as a supported platform. I had just spent my zest for exploration on datafilehost.com so was unable to unhide the files list.

I now have fatdogarm-07-25-2016.zip and the md5 is correct.

thanks

Where does datafilehost.com download to?

Can someone who has downloaded fatdogarm-07-25-2016.zip tell me where does https://www.datafilehost.com/d/867a7328 download it to? I've told Firefox to ask me the dl location but datafilehost.com ignores that. I tried pFind while downloading but there's nothing new called fatdogarm. It wont fit on m...

Barry, The CPU is "Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz" -- all 32-bit I believe. I used this phrase because you keep referring to running 32-bit apps in a 64-bit OS. Just a minute. I've never seen a 64-bit system advertised I think. And 64-bit systems run 32-bit OSs. Is there a util...

Barry, I'm using 7.0.4.1 livecd 32-bit. I like it. Particularly, the ability to make room by deleting stuff I no longer need in /root. I hope you'll be making an updated all 32-bit version with an updated Seamonkey. I'd like to repair my /dev/sdf5. Do I need to get code page 437 first? # fsck /dev/s...

rcrsn51,

Thanks.

There were 4 installation errors in total all due to the assumption that /usr/lib contained files matching libcn*. I think.

I have done a couple of test prints which were ok.

Strange that there's no mp460 driver. The manual was updated a few weeks ago.

Another thread says that the mp160 would work also but that isn't on the site either. I am using Precise 571 but I can change to latest Slacko. I had a Brother b...

resizing the screen

I have started X at the unavoidable 1024x768, added a new mode (1920x1080 max for the HDTV) with cvt & xrandr then resized the screen with xrandrshell from the xorg wizard. I clicked the permanent button but a restart of X returns the familiar 1024x768 mode and my settings in xrandr are gone. /e...

I connect through VGA not RGB as I originally stated.

So maybe disabling ddc would help?
