wiak, I thought it was odd too. The symlink must have got deleted with a program uninstall. I took out firefox, thunderbird, and the email that came in dog. Installed vivaldi deb and it works very well along with palemoon. Overall BionicDog64 is the best of both worlds ubuntu for system/program upda...

A few small problems with Bionicdog (SOLVED)

Fixed it! Dog was missing the symbolic link from libpcre.so.1 to
libpcre.so.3 located in /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu folder. Once there geany works fine. They way I found this was to look in bionicpup that I have installed on this same laptop.

Yes fredx181, that is the same one {BionicDog64_2018-06-04-firmware_all.iso} with pcmanfm+lxpanel, I have searched and have not found anyone else with this geany problem. The only ref. I found to libpcre.so.1 was run as spot for chrom.

Hi phil, And a fine job you did on the nvidia driver pet. It went into my laptop perfectly and I used it on a desktop/homegrown with nv4 chipset/8600gt video, worked perfect. All is good running BionicPup64 v8.
Thank you very much for all the work you put in.

Hesse James I have been having a time getting nvidia 340 drivers for bionicpup64 to compile and work. I tried your sfs file and it failed on my Dell e6410/nvs3100m. 666philb posted a nvidia-340 pet here http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=114311&start=765 that worked on my laptop when n...

666philb I dont know what you put into that .pet, cause thats the biggest driver pet that I have seen 97mb. But IT WORKED. It worked perfect with the laptop off the docking station. When I put it on the dock with a 22" monitor it wanted to set the res at 3120x1050, so I went into nvidia setting...

You have the same laptop but with intel video mine is nvidia, thats where the problem is. With just the nouveau drivers it runs fine with no problems, but try a program that has opengl and they suck.

Things will work out..

Hey bigpup, getnvidia looked like it worked but on reboot black screen. I even tried it on a desktop with a 8600gt card and no go. It has to be the 4.19.23 kernel. I have bionicdog64 installed on both machines with nvidia-340 with no problem, dog has 4.15.22 kernel.

Bionicpup64 8.0 CE

Has anyone had any luck getting Nvidia-340-107 to compile on bionicpup with kernel 4.19.23. On mine nvidia340-107.run it states something about not being able to create synlink to libcuda. There is one here https://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pet_packages-bionic64/ but it is for 4.19.12 kernel. My...

BionicDog64 On startup-Wallpaper offset 40% (Simi-Solved)

I made a button on the desktop that I push to restore nitrogen and it fixes it. I have read that 18.04 has problems with docking stations like mine. I have been testing BionicDog64 for a couple of weeks now and this is the only minor problem. On startup the wallpaper is offset and I have to click ap...

Interesting, I didn't try that script, I just rebooted and closed the lid and it went sleepy pie. Open lid it awoke, I clicked on ect/acpi/actions/suspend.sh and it went to sleep, hit space bar and awoke. All is good.
