Re: Acer Netbook Wireless
Would there be any interest in a forum devoted to Fluppy and Puppeee?
If so, I'd be happy to host it.
Thom
I would be interested in following a forum. I use Fluppy 13, and find it to work well in most of the P4 and up laptops I have seen, and the one I use in my Dell D630 that actually ...

vattery
Hmmm, I havent got any reports about that Vattery icon in tray. Barrys powerapplet_tray does not work. Not even compiled in Ice Puppy. And I think it points to the existing battery files in this new kernel build. So the problem is out of my hands atm.
But, is it really me only who has Vattery in ...

Re: 2.6GHz P4 benchmarks barely faster than 1.5GHz Celeron
I just upgraded my Lupu 5.1.1 hardware to a P4 805 - 2.66Ghz dual core with 2X1meg L2 caches. When I run the benchmarks under the System Information utility, my CPU shows only marginally faster (actually the Ray Tracing shows I'm slower) than the standard 1.5Ghz Celeron reference CPU???

I have been unable to boot from the CD when it is SATA CDROM nor the expansion boards such as the Promise ATA133. It show that searching SDXX, but no joy.
All that have Actual IDE CDROM seem to boot correctly.
Overall nice look and feel !

If you haven't rebooted or shut down, you might want to check in the download location to make sure there are no leftovers from the prior download attempts.Might not be necessary but can't hurt to check.

zd1211b vice zd1211rw
214XRC4 loads the zd1211b module which causes gui lockup when scanning for networks unless signals are really strong. Other puppies, 431, quirky use the zd12111rw and have no issue.
In boot setup tried to set zd1211rw as prefered, but no joy in getting zd1211rw to load.
