Re: Frisbee & FlSynclient
I have the same problem with FlSynclient as heywoodj ( crash out of X on any position calibrate). Just edit Xorg.conf and good to go though (Alps touchpads)... Good call on manually editing, in my case the parameters on /root/.flSynclient . I had to first enable viewing hidden files. And the change...

FlSynclient problem
Being a Fluppy fan I had to try out Saluki-007. It's a cheat frugal install on my hp/Compaq nx6325 laptop. it booted without a hitch, though there were some quick warning statements just before X started. Xorg seemed happy, Frisbee connected fine, and ALSA seemed to work okay. But like pemasu said b...

Success with Wary
So, I went and downloaded Wary 5.1.1 with the 2.6.31.14 kernel, and am running it now on a dialup connection. Wary miraculously detected my modem and connected without a hitch. Thank you Barry K., rerwin and others who make dialup modem support a reality, not mere lip-service. I'm still customizing ...

After reading Barry Kauler's comments on analog modem drivers here, http://bkhome.org/wary/ I'm guessing that for the time being, my meager effort to get my modem working in Fluppy 013 with the 2.6.35.7 kernel would be futile. I'll add Wary to my kennel next time I can get to a fast connection. You ...

How to use dialup modem of HP/Compaq laptop? (Solved)
This is the(current) last hurdle in taking this laptop (hp/Compaq nx6125 -- 1.6 GHz AMD, 1.5 GB RAM, 40 GB HDD w/ 1.5 GB swap) running Fluppy 013 as a go-anywhere machine. The ATI IXP/Conexant modem was initially not detected by PupDial. Running ScanModem, I was told to get the SLMODEMD.gcc4.tar.gz ...

Dial Up Modem on hp/Compaq Laptop
I have a hp/Compaq nx6125 laptop (1.6 GHZ AMD, 1.4 GB RAM, 40 GB HDD w/ 1.5GB swap) that I have been trying to get the modem to work, mostly with Fluppy 013. As Fluppy 013 did not immediately recognize the (win)modem, I ran ScanModem, and its ModemData.txt showed the modem to be an ATI IXP modem, an...

Pemasu, thanks for your response. I tried them and between the /etc/acpi/actions folder that contains the suspend.sh script and the acpid pet, when I close the lid, my lapdog goes to sleep peacefully :) ! The /etc/init.d/rc.acpi was not needed. As a bonus, I see that when using shinobar's suspend.sh...

Suspend using the lid switch
I hope this is appropriate to ask, but I'm unable to suspend my laptop with the lid switch in Fluppy 013 but suspend works fine in your SnowPuppy 020. The machine is a hp/Compaq nx6125 (1.6 GHz, 1.4GB RAM, 40 GB HDD w/ 1.5 GB swap), running Fluppy in a full install, SnowPuppy in a "cheat frugal...

Fun with My New Fluppy
After trying out various puppies (4.2.1 -> LuPu 5.2.5) on my "new" laptop (hp/Compaq nx6125 -- 1.6 GHz AMD, 1.4 GB RAM, 40 GB HDD w/ 1.5 GB swap), I am now enjoying Fluppy 013. It looks good, works well, boots quickly and has a good feel. But it's not perfect with all hardware -- yet. Ther...

The -s suspends to memory (sleep state S3). The -S suspends to disk (sleep state S4) There is no hibernate option that I know of. Oops! My bad  . Suspend to disk IS hibernate! I did read that hibernate is not enabled in the Lucid kernel. So, for now I wiped LuPu 5.20 and full installed 4.2.1....

If you type acpitool -h in a console/terminal, isn't there a hibernation option? On my AcpiTool (v0.5), the only relevant options are #acpitool -s and #acpitool -S The -s suspends to memory (sleep state S3). The -S suspends to disk (sleep state S4) Most of the other options control LCD brightness, ...

Suspending my hp/Compaq laptop
I'm trying to make my hp/Compaq laptop suspend to RAM upon closing the lid. This is a nx6125 (1.6GHz AMD, 1.4 GB RAM, 40 GB HDD) running LuPu 5.20 in a full install. After seeing this: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=59336 I tried out what I could manage. I have installed acpitool and a...

I started along the path that hoven suggested and reformatted the usb stick as NTFS, and discovered that the universal installer doesn't support NTFS. Reading further in his instructions, I couldn't find where ntldr and boot.ini were located so abandoned that approach. (Edit: Nevermind, I found them...
