'Show' goes to root/.config/roxfiler--- that has vnd.ms-office or something like that. I'm not in Puppy right now. Didnt see a way to insert-add
something for L-O.
When I open L-O and get a .pps into it, the sound doesnt work.
Same old Puppy story of old. Guess I'll go ...

Would someone please show me how to get L-O to 'activate' when clicking on a .ppt
record?
I just installed (frugal) Slacko-5.5. From PPM got the L-O SFS and JRE 1.7.
I've a file of .PPT in another partition.
Would it be better to get L-O as a pet?

Hi Mick, frugal install, (dwnld yesterday)
Sound works everywhere except on .pps .ppt
files. Libreoffice impress shows file fine, otherwise.
Surely would appreciate help getting the sound.
This could become my only distro. Been on Mint11.

Two problems:
1) installed gnome-Hearts from PPM-ubuntu-lucid-universe.
Nothing missing, it said. Tried to exec from menu, fun, hearts.
Got the msg : Failed to execute child process "gnome-hearts" (No such file or directory). Anyone know how to fix?

Running live-dvd with save area.
Still have the same problem. Ever since 5.1,
when clicking menu, multimedia, Pburn,
it displays red bar at bottom left of window,
with msg 'no disc inserted. Added 0'
The disc I booted up with is still there.
Doesnt help to R&R any other disc.
Any way ...

In the last several versions of LUCI, Pburn fails to recognize a
cd-dvd present in the drive (SR0).
Unable to blank a disk.
Anyone else have this problem?
Puppy 5.1.1, Pburn 3.2.6 works fine!

Applied your patch for the ATI driver.
When going back to Quick-pet, clicking 'test graphics driver',
It says 'Xorg is installed, but driver isnt working'.
Checking 'Install", it shows the patch & Xorg-High installed.
Also says 'Click on Xorg Help. How and where is that?

Tried to add Gnome 'Hearts' with PPM. No missing deps., listed in menu.
At exec, get something like 'failed child exec, doesnt exist'.
Also, using OO.o sfs, no sound on the .PPS files.
Same problem in -237 and -238. Surely would like to get these
working. Any/all help appreciated.

Howdy. Icewm works somewhat better than jwm.
However, sound doesnt work.
A 'buntu forum said gstreamer modules were needed.
I got the 4 from PPM. 2 named 'bad' and 2 'ugly'.
Also installed perl-base-5.10.1, perl-5.10.1,
and perl-modules-5.10.1
Perlapi-5.10.1 dependency not resolved ...

Went to the same site as BEEM to dl the USA .pet OO.
I select a pps from saved files. It comes up as usual.
Selecting 'slide show' or using F5, it seems to try to start
but 'hangs'. Can only exit by forcing close from task bar.

Attempted to install XPAT2 from the rpos. (universe).
Seemed to install with no missing deps.
NO menu entry.
The last time I tried to install VirtualBox, several missing mods.
Also no sound with any .pps that has sound be there.

In 115, pfix=ram, installed virtualbox-3.1_k2.6.30.5.pet.
Restarted X, have menu entry at system/ sys. stat. & config/
sun virtualbox. Nothing executes after clicking.
Looks like a great distro coming up.

Attempted to use VirtBox3.1.pet.
At exec time, failed, needed kernel compile.
Ran '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' per inst.
Compile failed with:
'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv: line 301: /opt/VirtualBox/src/vboxdrv/build_in_tmp: No such file or directory.
Suggestions ?
