suspend on acer aspire one with Puppy 5.2.8

I have been using PL 5.2 frugal off of a usb drive which has worked well except for being unable to utilize the built-in sd card slot. It was suggested I move up to 5.2.8 which I then installed on the SSD frugally. It now mounts the sd ¨drive¨ but I have lost the ability to suspend the netbook with ...

Thanks for the replies.

Bigpup:
Somehow I have the feeling it is not a bug but if I don´t get it resolved I shall try the newer version.
When I boot from the SSD it shows the unmounted sd card on the desktop but immediately asks for set-up parameters so it is not seeing the lupusave-xxx.2fs inside ...

how to install savefile to sd card?

I am trying to make an Acer AspireOne with 8gb SSD into a nimble netbook unlike what it was originally with XP and then an attempt with Xubuntu.
I have been using frugal Lupu 5.2 off a usb drive and that works well. Now I would like to install that frugal version to the SSD on the AspireOne but have ...

I would like to revisit this old thread in that I am on vacation in a motel in a new (to me) city. I was hoping to utilize my trusty frugal 5.2 to get snappy internet service but to no avail. After finally figuring out how to log in thru the password protected service here (requiring many steps as ...

Puppy 5.2; frugal install
I have Puppy installed on 2 different USB drives on 2 different laptops with Dropbox 11.43 on each one. Dropbox has been working perfectly on both until today and now neither works - ¨downloading file list¨ but nothing happens. I have restarted DB to no avail. My DB on an ...

Wognath;
Even more portable and flexible is the well publicized idea, which I have been using sucessfully, of putting the KeePass file into Dropbox. There it sits encrypted and available to be pulled up with any device that has internet access and a copy of KeePass - in my case an Android smartphone ...

Thanks everybody.
It was an interesting excercise. I say that because I re-installled Puppy with the Save to a file instead of a partition - something I am accustomed to and something much easier to monitor..

Ok I am learning how to use some new terminal commands and do a screen shot. Here is some more data (attachment):

Also I am finding more info about Pupmode=7 which signifies that the save file is on the entire partition (I am not sure what it is named). A couple of other posts suggest it can create ...

Acer A1, 2 gb usb, frugal 5.2

I just completed a new install of 5.2 using the Universal Installer from CD to an ext3 formatted usb drive on a one 1.5 GB partition. After I established the settings and installed Firefox I chose "save to partition" instead of to a file without thinking. I was not ...

Thanks everybody. I hadn´t realized that my DB version was outdated, especially since it kept saying ¨updating¨ but really all it was doing was adding tar.gz update files that did not function - many of them.

I removed the old version and installed the stable 1.2.52 and it seems to be working ...

I should not be so smug about my sucesses. It seems that my installation of Dropbox is going to require frequent ¨housekeeping¨ and that is not acceptable.

I got DB from http://theasterisk.droppages.com/Puppy+Linux+Packages/Internet/Dropbox . It works like a charm. To use it I open it from Menu although the folder is always present in Root and since I don´t use it all that often I like that it doesn´t run on startup.

They appear to be scheduled ...

PL 5.2 frugal, FF 8.0

PL 5.2 frugal on usb; FF 8.0

Seemingly overnite my savefile went from 25M to 2M free and on came the flashing warning to resize (AGAIN). This is despite my very restrictive FF settings. So I decided to delete Cache data (despite warnings re: that in a previous post) as it was huge. The problem: I ...
