Firefox 40 Lucid-5.2.8.7

Thank you to all concerned for the Lucid update to 5.2.8.7. I run an old Compaq NC8000 and it runs great. I am doing a course and the web site I do practice exams on requires Firefox 34 or higher. I tried the one that comes with Lucid (I think it is Firefox 20) but some content in the exams did not ...

USB Boot Puppy Linux in Virtual Box on Windows XP host.

Don't know if this is obvious but it had me scratching my head for a while so I thought I would share the info. I run Windows XP at work as my Host OS. I have had this issue before and another user. See http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=58807 Kind Regards ...

The added lines in /etc/wgetrc for using a Proxy Server also works for the Puppy Package Manager. Handy for downloading applications at your place of work when the only connection to the Internet is via a Proxy Server.

I added the following lines to the /etc/wgetrc file

# Proxy Server
http_proxy = proxy.foo.bar:8080

# If Proxy Server requires authentication to access the Internet
proxy_user = <username>
proxy_password = <password>

This would be a nice feature to add to the Quickpet GUI.

New to Puppy and using 4.1.2. Had trouble with YouTube also. Downloaded the following PET package and installed

http://www.puppylinux.ca/tpp/ttuuxxx/pr ... .12.36.pet

All seems to be OK so far using YouTube no freezing like before.
