Using it on a Aspire One D250 running off of a 2Gb Kingston data Traveler USB and it works fine.

VERY impressed with this little Netbook.

You can buy any number of cables and adapters that will limit the protrusion of the USB. I used one that is L shaped. I have another one that is a 2 ft cord.

I have the same series of Toshiba laptops. You are not going to get it to boot from the CD or Wake up floppy. What you need to do is pull the HDD,and put it in another laptop or use a Desktop to laptop adapter (a few bucks off eBay).

Use Gparted to format the HDD. That is unless you want to keep ...

I've done it on the 100 series, but not the 50/70 yet. Yes it really speeds things up. I haven't a high speed card. Batt time is double plus depending on what is running.

The ones I have don't seem as wide as those shown in the pic, but online pics can be deceiving to their true demensions.

This is an example. I just buy whatever generic ones that are the cheapest. You have to file or sand down the solder as the pins stick out some but it's not labor intensive to get it to fit in the Librettos. Just a little added extra work.

The CF adapter fits in your existing 2.5" HDD slot. You put the adapter in the slot and the CF inside the adapter.

Yes a Libretto 50/70 can boot off a CF drive (with an adapter). It's suppose to speed up booting as well as extend the battery time. I have an adapter. I'm waiting for the right deal on a CF drive to buy one. But I've read many webpages where people have had success using the CF in the Librettos.

I think a tar file is a good idea. I'll do a zip file and an Iso. too. That way, the end user can pick and choose what works best for them.

I'm about done testing, debugging and tweaking to the extent of my limited Linux knowledge.

The screen shot for the Libretto will more or less look the same ...

OK, I found a way around it. Although you can not directly copy & paste in some versions of puppy, I found this works:

Highlight (drag) the text like you normally would to c&p.

Hold Ctrl + C.

Open the Clipboard (Menu/Desktop/Xclipboard)

Paste with Shift + Insert.

Then from there you can paste ...

The commands I listed work inside RVXT in 4.2 but don't transfer out of console.

Which is odd as it works fine in other versions I use regularly. It works fine in the 2 series as I used it the other day to post debug messages on the forum.

Buy a $2 Desktop to Laptop IDE adapter off eBay.

Disconnect your hard drive in your desktop and connect the adapter.

Put the Puppy CD in your Desktop.

Boot up.

Follow the prompts and load Puppy.

Use Gparted off ...
