Prob a moot point now. Got a new"er" laptop and after installing puppy didn't have those issues so I'm fine.
Thanks

This card does not show up in 13.1FULL nor in 12.12. My Kindle Paperwhite DOES show up though. I forgot my thumb drive at work so couldn't test that. My wifi is through a USB device though and that works fine.

No. I assumed I could download the deb and install it. It asked if I wanted to install, said it was installing, then put a menu entry but wouldn;t run when selected. (v9.6 as you suggested)

After some searching I found a pet for 9.5 but I'd like the latest.
I searched and searched for a 9.8 pet or sfs but nothing. nor in the PPM.
Can someone tell me if there is a 9.8 for puppy?

Reading HUGE directory on 3TB USB 2.0 drive [solved]
Hi,
I have a 3TB external USB drive (it's 3.0 capable but the PC only has 2.0 USB).
It's about 2/3 full. I have one particular directory that gives Puppy 5.28 fits.
It's about 900+ GB and there's over 90,000 files/directories on it. When I open this directory it shows blank. I don't know if it's ...

Thanks everyone I'll use all those suggestions. Lots of good advise. I've been trying to swap over to puppy but I've hit that age where tech is getting to be more trouble than I want to deal with. 5 years ago I'd have spent an entire weekend online researching and reading 50 page threads.

Where is all my space going?
Started with 1 gig. Down to just over 300MB.
Installed Chromium.
Installed Thunderbird mail (plus copied my 170MB profile).
Installed Wine.
I also updated the databases in PPM.
It might have been after that that I noticed a LOT of space when bye bye.
No problem resizing it but I'm more interested ...
