Ok. I feel like a moron.
I cannot remember where to get a copy of Woof from and I know it's something that is staring me in the face laughing hysterically at me.
Feel free to laugh at me...

Booting in Virtual Box
Ok. I know I've done this before. I booted Virtual Box with the Live CD image of Slacko, set up the hard drive image, did the full install like I usually would complete with GRUB, and rebooted... It fails to boot if I remove the CD image from the drive manager.
Any ideas?

I'm going to be making good use of VirtualBox for this one, and I'm going to see just what Woof can really do, a...

You can manually mount it there.
I might have the mount part backwards. You'll have to play with it and see.
umount = unmount
mount = well... mount
Code: Select all
#umount /dev/rio500
#mount /sdx# /dev/usb/rio500
umount = unmount
mount = well... mount

If it's a bad sector, in a Windows command prompt run the following:
This forces CHKDSK to scan the disk and repairs/reroutes bad sectors on the disk. I'm not 100% sure, but I would run this from within the recovery console, not the OS.
Code: Select all
chkdsk /r C:
