In Puppy 4.3beta1, the Network Wizard fails to connect to a WPA-encrypted network using PSK (Pre-Shared Key). It seems to assume the older TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol).
Tested on a recent Acer Aspire 5315, Celeron 560 2.13GHz, 2Gb Ram, Atheros AR5007EG wireless adapter.

Old Ralink driver
Puppy 4.11 seems to have the old rt61 driver, not the newer rt61pci. I understand there are some issues with rt61pci, but there's a worse problem with rt61: it doesn't support PCMCIA cards.
Not mine, at least (D-Link DWA-610).

Puppy has improved
Puppy has improved. All my concerns of 3 years ago have been addressed.
I'm writing from a PC with no hard drive at all. It boots from CD, then Puppy looks for his files and finds them on the flash drive. From then on, there is an eerie silence. Everything that happens, happens in silence. No ...

False alarm - corrupt download
Thanks Béèm. My mistake - I neglected to check the MD5. The file size was only 4 bytes different from version 4.1... so I thought it was OK. Not so!

New network wizard fails to connect
I've just done a frugal install of Puppy 4.1.1 on an old Thinkpad 1200 with a D-Link wireless G card (RaLink RT61 chipset, rt61pci driver). Files saved in /sda1/puppy411.

All seems to be fixed now
Thanks, Pizzasgood. I confess I didn't try just doing it, since the instructions said I couldn't. Just recently I did try and it works fine. Maybe it always has...
Anyway, as of Puppy 2.02, all my machines are happy and so am I. Very soon I'll be confident enough to do a proper HD install!

Can I amend my /sbin/init file?
I'd like to make a small change to my /sbin/init file, but it's on a file system mounted read-only. Is there a way to edit this file?
(I'm thinking unmount and remount, or perhaps save to another layer and let unionfs merge it in at shutdown).

Init script does not check for USBFLASH media
The script /initrd/sbin/init has a function called loadpupsfsfunc(). It checks for flash drives with a

pup_xxx on flash drive
Barry,
I've thought about it for a couple of days and I think you're wrong. NTFS support should not be a priority. Flash drive support should.

How to boot from CD with pup_200 on USB flash?
I'm trying to boot a Puppy 2.00 CD and hoping to use the image of pup_200 on my USB flash drive sda1. That would free up the CD much the way putting usr_cram on the hard drive did in Puppy 1, and still does in Puppy 2 if you have a FAT32 PC (only now it's pup_200).
